W
hen winter comes Second Life is tinged with white, everything becomes crystal and the virtual world becomes a pearl of beauty and won-
der. On this occasion I found myself Telrunya, a wonderful winter land, rich in detail, of secret places to discover, enchanted corners and paths immersed in silence and snow that will make you believe you are in a fairy tale world. Telrunya is a special land, studied in detail to offer to all its visitors a complete tour and pleasantly wonderful so that we can always remember even when the snow will melt.

t was just two years ago in September that Squinternet Larnia of Donna Flora died after a long struggle with cancer. Her last wishes in Second Life were that her store would remain open and continue to bring joy to people in Second Life and keep her memory alive. She wanted to be remembered.

ACADIE CLUB Writer and photographer Edwardi Mosely
W
e went to find Acadie Club and interviewed one of the owners, Lukia Halderman, to tell us the dreams of a group that with the passage of time, always knows innovate and have fun, meeting new and old friends. 1. How did you have the idea for a land dedicated to music and entertainment? Well, it's not an uncommon idea: actually it's the one that warms up many people that decide to open a land, to offer good music and fun. Unless you have other objectives, maybe orientated to art and culture.
82 | VSN - Issue 44 - December 2015
The winning idea has been, however, what pushed Acadie towards opening a disco and making it available to everyone that just wants to make a night event, people who don't own a place in Second Life. That's how it started. You could book DJs, singers, all with your own money. In a very short time the Acadie Club got crowder, it literally exploded, pulling around itself many celebrities and masters of Second Life that, then, became owners. We are eight: Acadie, Diletta, Tuavera, Duccio, Prigionierodiunsogno, Meme7again, Claudia and myself, an attached team with great passion. 2. What changed compared to few years ago in being an owner in a virtual world? Few things, I must say. As always an owner should be present, available, in love with his land and able to keep the group close.
84 | VSN - Issue 44 - December 2015
3. Why an avatar should come to your place? What distinguishes your place from similar ones? An avatar can find a good welcome, sympathy, attention, can find the best offer for DJs and singers, but first of all will find joy and relax. 4. What about future projects for your land? The Acadie Radio, now a work in progress.

n the cold Russian steppes were two children who were close friends, their names were Kay and Gerda. Their houses were joined by a small roof garden filled with roses. One day, while the children played in the garden, something went into the eye of Kay. From that moment, Kay became bad with everyone, even with Gerda. Later, while Kay was playing with the sled in the town square, he remained stuck in the slide of the Snow Queen and was dragged away, unable to break away. The Snow Queen enthralled him with a kiss, causing him to lose his memory and preventing him from experiencing the cold to keep him with her for ever. Gerda, desperate for Key, decided to go look for him. She got into a boat and asked to the River, in exchange for his red shoes, to bring her to Kay.
T
he boat ran aground near a small house in the middle of a flower garden, where lived an old witch. The sorceress charmed Gerda making her forget Kay and made disappear all the roses in the garden, so that she's not remembered her friend. Nevertheless, after some time Gerda saw a rose painted and after questioning in vain all the flowers, she returned to his research. Along her journey she meets a crow that told how an unknown boy has recently married the princess of the country. In his description Gerda recognize Kay and grew with the help of the crow came into the palace of the princess and her husband. But this was not Kay, although resembled him. The newlyweds, moved by her story, gave to Gerda a carriage to continue the search. Determined to find Kay, Gerda went on but she was attacked by bandits, because of the coach and the rich clothes that have been donated to her. The robbers wanted to kill her, but they were stopped by the chief's daughter who wanted her to become her new friend. The girl was holding captive two doves and a reindeer and after listening the story of Gerda, told her that they saw Kay in Lapland, in the palace of the Snow Queen. The robber left free Gerda and the animals and finally they started to save Kay.

erda, the doves and the reindeer were traveling along until arriving in Lapland but they could not know that Kay had been subjugated by the Snow Queen and forced to compose endlessly words with some ice chips. Only if he could make the word "eternity" would be able to return to being master of his own life. And while Gerda was coming to the palace, the queen left him. Gerda found Kay, hugged him and with her tears melted the ice in the heart of her best friend. Kay recognized her and began to cry and from his eye came out the fragment of bewitched mirror. While Kay and Gerda celebrated and danced, the vibrations of their footsteps did move the pieces of ice on the floor, who composed spontaneously the word "eternity", freeing Kay.

It's beginning to look a lot like holydays Writer and photographer : Mattew Northman
W
ell, here we are, it's time for the final and ultimate holydays of the year. Many people around the world have already started decorating their houses with christmas trees, hanging socks, menorahs, cribs and much more, just like the avatars in Second Life are doing the same, except for the fact that building a 30m high christmas tree costs much less there. Every year Second life paints itself white, puts on some hanging lights and then begins the magic of the holydays. I'll never say this too many times: people who can't move from house for a reason or another can be grateful for this occasion. In this time people from all around the globe can meet in one place and have a lot of fun chatting, singing, listening to DJs and, at last, in the night of 31st, wish everyone
a happy new year. And after parties there isn't even the problem of cleaning up everything, just click and remove. Of course, if the user base of Second Life is between 600.000 and 900.000 people who will be online on Christmas' Eve and New Year's Eve won't be a lot, so it's normal to see less people online. But, parties are everywhere, just like in real life, and this is a point that's dear to me. My personal point of view is this: virtual worlds enrich us, but we must not forget that there's an entire world out there waiting for us. So, if there's no serious reason in staying at home just get out and take a look around. After all you might meet outside a friend met in Second Life, who knows? This said without further ado I wish all my readers happy holydays. And thank you.

Christmas Carol in Prose, Being a Ghost-Story of Christmas, commonly known as A Christmas Carol, is a novella by Charles Dickens, first published in London by Chapman & Hall on 19 December 1843.The novella met with instant success and critical acclaim. A Christmas Carol tells the story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kindlier man after visitations by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.
