The first scenes of the filmic contribution of The Piranesi Experience bring us inside the Forst factory: a village complex of independent architecture harmoniously inserted in the territory of the municipality of Lagundo, in the Province of Bolzano.
The concrete and steel façade, both hermetic and impenetrable, defines the new Silohaus while facing the traditional industrial complex formed by low volumes. This establishes the expressive strength of its sheet metal cladding, which macroscopically reproduces a crystal lattice and converses with the rugged surface of the mountains behind it. The camera now slides inside the Pavillon, a transparent steel and glass structure, which permits a glimpse of the ultramodern internal boilers from street level. As the shots of the camera widen, Fabio Paolucci’s photography enhances all the materials used throughout the entire complex: concrete, steel and glass, all skilfully fused in a rhythmic musical arrangement that chase each other within a winning combination of solidity and transparency, highlighted by the unpublished musical contribution of Populous. The natural light fades away and the filming becomes aerial. Thus, we spot the Forst complex from above: the joyful coexistence of innovation and tradition, of unusual geometric shapes and great transparent membranes that are flanked by impenetrable elements.
