what i believe to be true by miriam weirich

1 balance is important balance presents harmony. joy can be found when balance of overlapping aspects of life is achieved. 2 be curious curiosity leads to discovery which leads to mindful execution. never stop asking why and always challenge each task, decision and exploration. 3 forgive forgiveness is a bitch, especially because i am stubborn. it is a life skill worth having. not only forgiving others, but also forgiving myself. when i forgive, i move forward, and thus i grow. 4 learn by touch by touching i remember and thus i love and learn. with my hands i touch to create. it is crucial to design with touch in mind, because then i am designing with creation in mind. 5 design is life design holds me together like the spine of a book. when all else fails, i will always be a designer. my creativity can never be taken away from me. i thrive on design; it feeds me when I am hungry and holds me when i am sick. it warms me on a dark, cold, and rainy night. design holds my purse when i have to tie my shoe strings. design challenges me to be better. design pushes me to be the best version of myself.

What is unity? How do I perceive unity?

Senior Thesis / Spring 2015 (in progress) Concept Drawings Development

2

I see unity as the joining and overlay of objects. Unity is to become whole.

Project Statement: To provide a space for students who need a mental retreat. A space that promotes rejuvenation and community. Here the users can seek professional advice or have a place to dwell. There will be different degrees of retreat available associated with the varying types of mental distress.

3

Unity as a whole.

Concept: Balance of consciousness and continuity of personal identity through unity. 9
