A+ Active Adults
Whether you enjoy theatre, music, cooking or simply miss getting together with friends, the Active Adults program at The Community House has something for everyone. We have a variety of new classes, activities and groups in addition to our day trips and special in-house events. Come by yourself or bring along a friend and join in one of our many offerings for active adults in the community. 2022 AARP Tax Aide Assistance
Appointments available starting: Wednesdays, February 16-April 6. This tax assistance and preparation will be offered to low and middle income individuals with attention to those 60 years and older. To make an appointment call the front desk at 630-323-7500.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Volunteer training will be the week of January 17th. Need volunteers for upcoming 2022 tax filing season. Our tax assistance and preparation will be offered to low & middle income individuals and those 60 years and older. It’s not necessary to be a AARP member or have a tax accounting background to volunteer. Knowledge of personal tax matters and computer literacy will be helpful. To volunteer, visit www.aarp.org/taxvolunteer utilizing either the GOOGLE CHROME or MICROSOFT EDGE web browser to access and complete an application. Volunteer Registration for the upcoming tax season will close on December 31, 2021.
AARP Smart Driver Course
Tuesday & Wednesday, February 8th & 9th • 9:00am-1:00pm The AARP Smart Driver course is the nation’s first refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. An evaluation of the course found that 97% of participants changed at least one driving habit as a result of what they learned! Our course will help you: Refresh your driving skills and your knowledge of the rules & hazards of the road, reduce your chances of receiving a traffic violation or getting into an accident. Upon completion, you may be eligible to receive an auto insurance discount. Consult your agent for details. You must attend both days of the session to receive your certificate.
