Walk off the Wait with Blue Star Card on Tuesday, July 16, as we hike to Waimea Falls. This is a great beginner hike and is stroller and kid friendly. Waimea Falls (also known as Waihi Falls) drops 45 feet (13, 7 m) into a pool. Swimming is allowed in the pool in-between performances in which professional cliff divers showcase their skills. The waterfall is accessible via a short, paved trail (about one mile one way). A changing room and a lifeguard are at the pool. This summer, join the Army in Hawaii community for a free Hawaiian music and storytelling series featuring some of Hawai’i’s most famous musicians. The Army will host four concerts featuring songwriters and musicians - telling the stories behind the songs, playing the songs they love. This event is being offered by the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawai’i’s, Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation and the Native Hawaiian Liaison, in support of the Army’s Native Hawaiian Covenant and its goal of creating learning opportunities for the Army and Native Hawaiian community. All events take place from 6-7:30 p.m. Schedule subject to change. Admission is free and open to the public. Food and drink will be available for purchase.
