THE BIG

Walk off the Wait (WOW) This activity is held every other month to give Blue Star Card holders the opportunity to see how beautiful the island is by going on various hikes around Oahu. Big R: Countdown to Redeployment This is a monthly event for Blue Star Card holders to count down the months until their Soldier returns. Theatre Thursdays @ SGT Yano Library Learn the basics of stage acting in our newly expanded theatre program for teens (12 and up) and adults, to be offered weekly. Meetings will be held Nov. 3, 10, 17 and Dec. 1, 8, and 15 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Share and learn about theatre through improvisation, puppetry, production and more. Our first meeting will be on Tues, Nov. 15. Children will select the book for the club and we will read it together. Origami @ SGT Yano Library Teens! Want to make funky, cool, origami objects? Come to the library on Nov. 22 at 4:00 pm to learn the basic techniques of Japanese paper folding. Broadway’s “Seussical” everything you like about Dr Seuss stories. An exciting performance of fun, fast and lively music, with dances and scenes performed by your favorite Seuss characters. Held at the Wheeler Middle School, Auditorium located upstairs, free admission on a first come, first served basis.

F.I.T.T. Kids. “Start Healthy – Stay Healthy” classes for 6-8 yrs & 9-12 yrs. A compressive fitness program. Sessions cover heath, fitness, and nutrition. Classes meet at the Schofield Bks, School Age Center soccer field, located directly behind the SKIES building. Fee is $37.50 per month for 4 – 1 hour sessions. Bring a towel and a container of water and wear appropriate footwear and clothing for working out/ moving around. 13

The HIRED! Apprenticeship Program offers work experience and training to better equip each Teen with the skills needed for the job market. Completion of The Hired! 12 week Program also awards a Stipend Check for the Apprentice.
