The NFL Pro Bowl is hosting a free Ohana Day for Families. The event will include prize drawings, a chance for kids to go on the field for contests, and a sneak peek of the pre-game and halftime shows. Free transportation will be leaving from the Schofield Barracks Bowling Center parking lot at 7:45 am and Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter at 8:15 am. Space is limited. Great Aloha Run - PRESIDENTS’ DAY Feb. 21, 2011 The Great Aloha Run, which began in 1985, is an annual community event held on Presidents’ Day to raise money for local charities. The Run has been recognized nationally as one of the top “100 Great Road Races” to participate in by Runners’ World Magazine. The 8.15 mile, relatively flat course, starts at Aloha Tower in Downtown Honolulu, winds its way along the historic Honolulu Harbor, down Nimitz Highway, Kamehameha Highway and into the Aloha Stadium. There are divisions for elites, age groups, wheelchair and handcycle competitors, military personnel running as individuals, and Sounds of Freedom (military running in formation). Individual Military Entries - Use the military entry form to participate in the run and line up with the rest of the public on race day. Sounds of Freedom - The Sounds of Freedom division is composed of units running in formation. HOW TO REGISTER - Individuals may register online at www.greataloharun.com . Hard copies of the Military Application form can be found at various MWR facilities island wide. Digital copies in PDF format can also be found online at the GAR website. Units may register for Sounds of Freedom by submitting the necessary Application to the Army Hawaii Sports and Fitness Office. ARMY FAMILY COVENANT / BLUE STAR CARD

The Blue Star Card is an Family and MWR discount and activities program intended to enhance the well being of Spouses and Families of combat deployed Army Soldiers during the stressful time of deployment. Walk off the Wait (WOW) This activity is held every other month to give Blue Star Card holders the opportunity to see how beautiful the island is by going on various hikes around Oahu.

Big R: Countdown to Redeployment This is a monthly event for Blue Star Card holders to count down the months until their Soldier returns. Each month there is a different activity such as Bowling, Zumba, Casino Night, Luau, etc. as well as free childcare and appetizers.

Create-a-Card This activity is held four times per year at the SGT Yano Library. It gives the Families of deployed Soldiers the chance to make personalized greeting cards for their Soldiers.

Theatre Night This event is held four times per year at the Army Community Theatre, Richardson Theatre, Fort Shafter. Blue Star Card holders can enjoy transportation, preshow appetizers, and a viewing of a performance of the current production at the theatre, all for free!
