Marial Status: Single

During my academic years, I had the opportunity to work with some great mentors and colleagues on projects ranging from small-scale to large-scale. With these diverse projects, I have learned to question and integrate ideas, cultures, and designs... In my exchange semester, I was able to broaden my horizon and adapt to a foreign work environment. Working in teams I became a better team player and more eager to discover the architecture around the world. Traveling through Europe I was able to learn about the culture, language, cuisine, and heritage of different countries and see how that molds the spaces and buildings around them. Everything that I have learned has provoked me further to discover the intersection of architecture and urban planning with art, the environment, and its interaction with people.

TECHNICAL DRAWING Transferring the concepts, techniques and method of graphic expression in two dimensions, giving professional skills to the students. Informing the student about drawing materials and techniques as a basis for all these knowledge and skills. As an extension of the general education character of the university and the education policy of the Department, besides the acquisition and application of professional knowledge and skills, students gain an aesthetic concern.

02

BASIC DESIGN To reach competence in artistic studies with applied and theoretical studies on basic design elements and principles and basic theories of art. It is to carry out theoretical and applied studies on the basic design elements and principles and the basic theories of art, on the axis of yesterday-today-tomorrow, in which examples from the history of art and contemporary art are given, and to bring an artistic perspective to urban design by transforming these studies into projects for creating a new urban plastic.

3

03

BASIC DESIGN STUDIO It is aimed to improve visual and verbal expression skills by involving students from different knowledge, skills and cultural backgrounds in a mental process within the framework of a common design language. In planning education, it is important to simplify the complex and simplify the process in order to identify and solve problems. For this purpose, the workshop supports the development of an inquiring and creative thinking system in defining the problems, solving the layers or transferring the process, without thinking independently of the place. In this context, in the basic design workshop, students present the phenomena they observe in the outside world, within the framework of a defined problem, with a socio-spatial scenario in which they place themselves. Abstract and draw a concept/notion that comes to your mind about "a good neighbor", which is the subject of the 15th Istanbul Biennial. Use online lines, curves, and circle.

15th Istanbul Biennial a good neighbour 16 September – 12 November 2017 Curators: Elmgreen & Dragset

Chosen concept: Coexistence of Different Cultures

ARCHITECTURAL KNOWLEDGE The basic elements of architecture, the preparation process of the architectural project, its scale, and the application process are given to the students. Building types according to their structural features, site selection criteria, function diagrams and project design standards are taught within the scope of the course. Quality standards in the architectural construction process, the relationship between single buildings and structures and the textures they form when they come together are examined. Information specific to the building density relationship is also explained with the application.

COGNITIVE ANALYSIS AND VISUAL PRESENTATION FORMATS The aim of this course is to be informed about the definition, classification and analysis of urban open spaces and the visual and cognitive methods used in their analysis. Defining and classifying the urban open space as property, dimensional, formal and functional, expressing the said space visually, teaching cognitive and visual techniques and explaining the semiotic expressions of urban open spaces are the achievements of the course. Encouraging students who have difficulties and reluctance to use visual expression techniques, and Especially for urban open spaces; be better understood in the process of perception, knowing and learning; It is also the content of the course to ensure that they have knowledge in visual and semiotic expressions and transferring them to drawing. URBAN SPACE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN TECHNIQUES The main goal of spatial analysis is to approach planning and design. It is aimed at obtaining the data that will form the basis with a broad perspective and syntheses related to it. The workshop aims to improve the perception of the concept of scale by going down to the details, and the environment suitable for the land structure. It also aims to make arrangements, to understand social reinforcement standards, to develop drawing skills and to gain vision. Examining the settlements separated from each other in space with an authentic approach to the space and understanding them with a direct experience with its own characteristics. The determination of the relations and historical thresholds that are decisive in its development, the actors and roles of the settlement will be examined. In this direction, analysis studies will be carried out to examine the specific squares in the city and the techniques transferred to the students, and the results and projects will be presented. URBAN DESIGN I It is aimed to define the problems in the field of urban design, to analyze them at the urban design scale, to create a program, to determine the urban design scenarios and to have the urban planner candidate make an application study in line with the information conveyed about the urban design scale. The application project is the design of the selected area, which is a famous, touristic, urban square. In the design of this square, the current situation was analyzed and the problems were determined. Various arrangements have been made to improve the use of the area: -Widening of roads, -Removing obstacles that make walking difficult, -Removing the borders of the gardens of state-owned areas such as mosques, -Arrangement of sitting areas, -Designing a multi-storey car park instead of an open car park, -Using the car park wall as an outdoor screen, -Creating a recreation park, children's playground and walking path by greening the area, -Designing the observation terrace by creating an artificial topography (Ground floor: cafe, roof: observation terrace (green roof)),

HOUSING DESIGN It is aimed to prepare the student for the architectural/urban project by understanding the criteria of "user, environment, program, function and structural setup", which are the advanced principles of design. -Design a residential area according to given area of 83,440 m², including all necessary functions with 3 Floor Space Ratio(FSR). -The total floor space should be 250.000 m² (3 FSR) and 10% (25,000 m²) of the area should be determined as commercial area. -Design at least two types of blocks and pattern them in the field. Design parking space. -The area can be connected to water and the design of the waterfront is optional. Project design were made according to the Zoning Regulation for Planned Areas. The chosen subject for the final project is "Tea Ceremonies In Different Cultures Of The World" and chosen presentation technique is stop-motion animation with digital drawings. The drawings were drawn in the Procreate app.

LANDSCAPE PLANNING 1&2 Landscape planning ultimately considers the connectivity of human habitats and living spaces and nature. It emphasizes ecological understanding and a multi-disciplinary approach to analysis, planning, and design. Landscape planning is very important to consider in developing land or restoring a city. In this course, landscape character areas of Beykoz district in Istanbul were determined for landscape planning: -Some analyzes (height, aspect, slope...) were made with DEM (Digital Elevation Models) data taken from NASA (https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov). -Land cover analysis was made with CORINE data taken from https://land.copernicus.eu/pan-european/corine-land-cover/clc2018. -All analyzes were overlapped and similar character areas were created. -All analyzes and processes were done in ArcGIS software. Location: Beykoz, İstanbul, Turkey Year: 2021
