FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GENERATION 2013 : KTM launches All-New 2013 motocross models! Wednesday May 16. St-Bruno, QC – While others let off the gas, KTM dumps the clutch and goes wide open with release of their all-new 2013 motocross bikes. With over 20 motocross and off-road models to choose from, KTM has something for everyone. And for twostroke lovers, you’ll be happy to know that KTM continues pushing forward with their two-stroke technology. Long live the two-stroke!
KTM 450 SX-F As most already know from following the AMA Supercross Series, KTM’s 450 SX-F is entirely new for 2013. Developed and proven by Supercross race winner, Ryan Dungey and the Red Bull KTM Team, the new 450 SX-F delivers a ride unlike any other 450 ever produced.

KTM 450 SX-F Using a SOHC fuel injected engine, the 450 SX-F produces incredible—but most importantly, smooth and linear—power across the entire rpm range. (Dyno charts show peak power of 60hp!) The engine itself is over 4lbs lighter than the 2012 version. Combine that with a lighter, more compact chassis and bodywork and the 450 SX-F becomes the class leader in power-to-weight ratio. Test riders so far are amazed at how much easier it is to ride new 450 SX-F, compared to others in its class.

KTM 250 SX-F Now entering its third year of production, the 350 SX-F receives an all-new chassis, reworked engine for even more power (now produces up to 54 horsepower!) and a wider powerband, and the bike feels even lighter. Racers love the quick handling of the 250 SX-F, but asked for more power. For 2013, KTM answered their request with, quite possibly, the world’s fastest production 250cc four-stroke. The new 250 SX-F produces 5hp more compared to the 2012 version! This is due in part to a new cylinder head layout and many changes made throughout the entire engine. Also, the 250 and 250 now use Pankl conrods with a plain bearing. This allows for the rpm limit to be increased to 13,400/min on the 350 and 14,000/min on the 250. Plus, it reduces maintenance intervals (crankshaft service every 100 hours instead of 50).

KTM 350 SX-F As far as suspension improvements go, the biggest has to be that all 2013 KTM motocross and off-road models come with North American suspension settings. Normally there is a compromise between Factory and North America settings, but not for 2013: all SX/XC models come standard with suspension settings developed specifically for NA riding styles and conditions. All 2013 SX and XC models receive new bodywork, swingarm, suspension settings, triple clamps, Renthal 827 handlebars, improved FI systems, black spokes, grips, reworked exhaust systems with header resonator system, new graphics … the list goes on and on!
