Team Rockstar Energy Drinks/OTSFF/Motovan/Yamaha Canada is set and ready to campaign the 2012 CMRC Motocross Nationals, which kick off this Sunday, June 3rd at The Wastelands in Nanaimo, BC. “We’ve been busy preparing for the season since early spring, testing, training, and conditioning. We’re really looking forward to getting out on the track and putting the Yamaha YZ450F and YZ250F through the paces. We’re running a top-notch product and have our usual lineup of quality sponsors to put us in the mix,” said team owner Andre Laurin. Seven-time Canadian National Amateur Champion, Richard Grey, will contest the volatile MX2 class aboard the YZ250F in his first season with the team.

“This is what I’ve been waiting for all winter and spring. I’m feeling really good mentally and physically to take on the challenge of defending the colours of Rockstar Energy Drinks/OTSFF/ Motovan/Yamaha Canada in the MX2 class,” said Grey. “I’ve really enjoyed riding the YZ250F in the pre-season and can’t wait to get out there and do the nationals.” Veteran Bobby Kiniry returns for his third season with the team to prove his mettle in the MX1 class. Kiniry is especially pumped to get the season underway, after experiencing more than his share of bad luck in 2011. A number of bad motos and collar bone break saw the No.3 plate he held for two seasons drop to No.7. “I’m definitely looking forward to a better season this year so that I can race for the championship and to at least get my top three plate back in a worst case scenario. The YZ450F is an awesome bike. It has a great record of winning Canadian championships, and I’ll be out there to give it my best shot to continue the tradition,” Kiniry said. Iain Hayden, who raced for Rockstar Energy/OTSFF last year, has parked his bike for the 2012 season and will be contributing his expertise in motocross as the team’s manager. “This is something new for me and I’m excited with my new role as team manager with the Rockstar Energy Drinks/OTSFF Motovan/Yamaha Canada family,” Hayden said.
