Street style During the secondary research, looking particularly the fashion of northern soul I discovered the cross over between todays street style and the mod/northern soul fashion. This lead to creating the concept, Northern Soul x Street Style. Our concept is based on styling and the fashion of the time. The video has a commercial/advert theme based on modern street style brands and the photo-shoot shows the outfits we chose.

styling
For the styling we took a lot of inspiration from the 1960s and the 1970s. Particulary designers such as Mary Quant and popular brands such as Addidas and Fred Perry.

We took inspiration from modern photos with a vintage affect. To recreate this we edited the images with a higher contrast and low viberance. We also considered the models poses to get the vintage style we wanted.
The locations we used for our photoshoot were iconic to sheffield. We used this to show a clear link between Sheffield and the nothern soul fashion we were inspired by.

For make-up and hair we wanted to keep a natural look. We decied to use a natural base, with a small ammount of highlight, no eye shadow and no lipstick/lipgloss. We decided the hair should be down and wavy/ straight.This was too keep the focus on the outfits we had styled.

We used two female models, one petite model and one tall model. This genertaed different looks.
