Guide to Thadingyut Festival Gifts During Thadingyut Time, we generally buy something to show the respects to the elder people as a tradition of Myanmar. It is not an easy task to choose what kind of product we should buy. Do not be perplexed anymore. Expecting the following tips will be beneficial for Smart Living us.  GIFT HAMPER It has been setting the priority to high. Saving times and we can buy a high variety of products within a limited budget. The first thing we have to consider is the quality and the latter is the expiry date.  FRUIT HAMPER It is the current healthy living style and has been widely used for the reason of being healthy especially for the elder people and those whose take care of their health. However, we have to think about the expiry date, ripeness, family number and the amount how much they can consume. Personally designed Fruit Hamper is available at City Mart.

 GIFT CARD It is the sample method to choose. Different people have Different taste. That is why we try to give the credit as a present but some people are afraid of being misunderstood. Nara Thai: A Thailand Food Trip Without The Trip BY IRIS ALONSO Nara Thai is basically a collection of all the best Thai street food, taking it several notches higher with quality ingredients, luxurious interiors, and efficient service. The menu was a pleasant trip around the country, showing dishes from Bangkok, Isan, Central, Northern, and Southern Thailand. All dishes came out at once, following Thai culture, but what first stood out was the Blue Butterfly Pea Fried Rice (Khao Phad Samunprai, 5,900 ks), a Nara Signature. It was a visual treat, but the blue flower extract did not influence the taste. We had coconut rice too, which was conversely visually plain, but so tasty that you can have it alone. The Fried Sea Bass with Fish Sauce (Pla Ka Phong Tord Nam Pla, 14,900 ks) was slow-grilled so that it gave a pleasing crunch as I pierced through its skin, revealing perfectly tender meat underneath. It was the star dish on that table, every part of it was delicious. The Nara Spring Rolls (Poe Pia Nara, 5900 ks) looked like sticks and it was a satisfying snackable in between. Of course, we also had the Tom Yum Goong with River Prawns (9900 ks). The bold orange color made me nervous, but it was actually a kind of spicy and sweet that can handle and even thoroughly enjoy! The prawns were cooked perfectly, making it easy to peel and eat whole. Our bowls were squeaky clean in the end. We then ended with some Durian Ice Cream with Sticky Rice (4,000 ks)—more rice! After gladly taking another rest, we left the restaurant with plans to return, because we barely got through the thick menu and the manager promised even more service improvements to come as the strive to achieve fine dining status. Wide parking space is available. Table reservations are encouraged, as the place gets fully booked on weekends and weeknights. Address: No.(1) ,Kan Yeikthar Street, Mayangone Township Opening Hours: 10:30 am to 10:30 pm Phone: 09 777 151222

Prime Grill : Yangon’s answer to the Mediterranean cuisine BY NIDHI GOYAL

The closing down of La Taverna or The Lab left Yangon without some fine Mediterranean restaurants. The wait is now over. Recently discovered in the heart of Nawaday Street, Yangon’s answer to Mediterranean cuisine pops up. Welcome on board, Prime Grill. Upon arrival, the hip teal green entrance mesmerized me. Inside is a contrast of sky blue and colorful walls adding a touch to the Mediterranean feel with lamps and framed food photos. We started our evening with a platter of Pita, which was enjoyed with hummus--a very smooth version seen here with the right amount of garlic and chilli (5,000ks) , followed by Baba Ghanoush (4,000 ks), cooked eggplant mixed with onions, tomatoes and olive oil. It goes well with Pita bread. Next on the line was the Israeli salad (4,000 ks), which is an absolute burst of flavours. To go along with this, we tried the mint lemonade. This drink is just the right refreshment you need on hot sweaty day! The drink went off very well with the dishes. My guests and I hopped on to Moroccan Cigars (5,000 ks/4pcs)—thin rice crisps filled with chicken and onions. Though it looks like Chinese Spring Rolls, it is less oily and tastes milder. If you are a fan of sour dish, Moroccan Fish (8,000ks) is another dish not to be missed. For vegetarian options, we recommend pita pockets with falafel and hummus (5,000 ks) as we loved the fact that they serve it ready so you can straight start eating it. The balance with the falafel balls and the salad was matched with the sauces. We ended the meal with famous Mediterranean dessert Muhallebi (3,500 ks) --- a milk based pudding perfumed with rose water and garnished with pistachios. The sweetness was just about right and the pudding was nice and smooth. Definitely try the Turkish coffee, which they serve in the authentic way. It leaves you on a high. The experience at Prime Grill was satisfying that we plan to come back in no time. Address: No 18 C, Nawaday Road (near Dagon 1 School) Yangon Opening Hours: 10:00AM - 10:00PM Phone: 09 793 808082
