According to the dictionary, mutation means to change from one thing or type of thing into another, for instance: a geographic change (house moving) or even a change in the structure of genes and chromosomes. MyB is something beyond our magazine format. The articles and works of art we bring closer to you with each issue belong to the different universes of different people, who at the same time, come together to make up a bigger universe to which we also belong.
MyB is a means of expressions that, as universes are bound to do, mutates. We are a door, a window, a train, a rock, a volcano, a demolition followed by the reconstruction. We are everything that is possible after the impossible, just like every part of the universe that can be depicted. And this is far from our last vision.

«”Divide and rule”, said Machiavelli wisely» A tiny sense of the ridiculous comes with great responsibility. Breaking the rules of what one is supposed to do and to surprise with an extravagant act that is so shocking that it causes offense, is not something trivial. Acts such as Rosa Parks, sitting where she was not permitted or Harvey Milk, opening a shop in a Catholic neighborhood, were courageous acts of faith. Throughout history, humans have been sprayed with fluid that makes them want to break the rules and give it a try. To innovate is to have to go through that awkward moment of being able to do something at the moment that may seem ridiculous, but are normalized over time. Today, we come across a ridiculous institutionalized “mamarrachismo” a way that has pulled down a supposed way to innovate. What if
there was no Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj? No offense to something that only aims to fill its coffers, without providing anything interesting. Not all innovation is ridiculous, but it involves a whole new level of absurdity. Play the role of hake frozen-faced, talented or nothing special, and just feed the swill they call that great modern talent. Want to transgress? Say hello when entering the bar. Thank the waiter. Smile. Now that would leave us all with crooked asses. Situations that do not know what the fucking time is have become the rarity, rather than normal. This attitude of constant disappointment, irony and contempt is an automatic neighbor. I do more than to reaffirm the designation of renegade and I’ve always exists on the surface: the Lost Generation.
“Divide and rule”, said Machiavelli wisely. And that is what they have done with us, turning the dance floor into schoolyards and making us hate each other. The fear I have set to be different and suffer is ridiculous. This, in reality creates controversy and the results for being daring are grotesque. There’s a battle taking shape. There are many pupae per flower that can help bring us the Renaissance we need.

I have to admit that I have not seen the entire interview Hermida made with the King at 75 years old. Unbearably boring topics and propaganda. The interview of the King is for me a broken opportunity. The set design, inspired by the spite of a high school principal, makes you want to close youtube. It makes you think that anytime Antonio Alcantara will open the door of that horrible room to tell Don Pablo, sitting behind the table, who has returned to stop the child. «No other group is able to construct a better oneiric and melancholic ambient, a main peculiarity of this sub genre loded of delays.» What will be on without myths. We feel like creating myths, so that we could fix difficult aims that look unreachable just to keep us excited. At least that’s the impression that “Myth” causes, the first single of the fourth album Bloom from Beach House (Sub Pop Records, 2012). An album that reveals the frightening, the temporal but also at the same time the beauty. It is like a fresh breeze of what one can experiment all trough his live. This piece of work produced by Chris Cody and recorded in Sonic Ranch Studios (Texas) approach us to the mysticism that Grizzly Bear realeases.
For both members Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, Bloom is different from their previous works. According to the Baltimore duo “It has sense from the biginning to the end. Every chords and melodies are performining togethter as a whole. It was difficult to overcome their previous album Teen Dream (2010) and songs such as “Walk in the park” or “Silver soul”, but the band from Maryland has proof that with this new LP they still the kings of the dream pop. No other grop is able to construct a better oneiric and melancholic ambient, a main peculiarity of this sub genre loded of delays. Moreover, songs like “New year” or “The hours” make us ponder about momentariness. “A fleetering vision of live with it’s whole fierceness, colour and beautiful even if it’s for a single moment”.

«The “dream-pop” duo launches Observator in Spain»

«Their new and seventh studioalbum of the group still adheres to his style.» The Danish Sune Rose Wagner (guitar, voice) and Sharing Foo (bass, guitar, and voice) have been a decade mixing pure dark rock with new electronic trends. This duo has refined his sound to a great and exultant dream-pop sound over the years. Their new studio album and seventh album of the group, Observator, still adheres to this style. In September last year, The Raveonettes released Observator and shortly after they started a tour that took them to the United States, Canada, and several European countries. Now they are in Spain. They will play on 21th January in Barcelona at Music
Hall, on 22th January in Bilbao at Kafe Antzokia and on 23th February in Madrid. So far, their last performances in Spain have been well received by critics and public alike. The name of the group makes reference to The Ronettes and the Buddy Holly song Rave On! Their music is also influenced by The Velvet Underground, The Jesus & Maria Chain or even Blondie. A decade later, in addition to these influences, there are also The Raveonettes themselves and young emerging bands like The Drums, Dum Girls or Glasvegas who have shown their admiration for them.

«He is influenced by hip-hop and the American funk artists of late ‘80s with the concerns about the ‘90s techno.» Definitely, to be born in Berlin in 1982 involved growing up in the heyday of social freedom in a Germany separated by the Berlin Wall, which would not end up falling until 1989. Germany was opening to the world and a young Fritz, influenced by hip-hop and the American funk artists of late ‘80s, such as Wu-Tang clan, Eric b. & Rakim and KRS One, along with the concerns about the ‘90s techno instilled by his older brother Paul Kalkbrenner, explain the sound that has led him to participate in the Berlin clubbing scene. However, his grand launch to the world does not appear until 2008, when he collaborates with his
brother in the soundtrack of the movie “Berlin Calling” with the track “Sky and Sand”. It will be then when he reaches the top. Now and after a very prolific year, with the release of two albums “Soul Mates” (2012) and “Sick Travellin ‘” (2012) he visits us to perform live, in a permissive and rippling way that, thanks to his voice, seems to swing on rhythms electro-beats.

«Proposes questions and situations trough their music, but they never give an answer.» If you are ever able to get inside a huge and abandoned industrial shed, in that precise moment when everything is dark except for the last rays of the sunset, but you can still distinguish the silhouettes of what surrounds you, if you have inside this mixture of sensations between fear and adventure, between anguish and curiosity, without any doubt what we are listening to, that will be Nautiluss. Their music clearly fits with this experience: a down tempo and self-reflective electronic music, sounds that are turning around on themselves like the shadows at night, a corridor without walls in which each chord surprises you with a new sound.
These songs are always climbing; it is the policy of the more and more applied to music: always more and more, but never enough. Further, always further, but there is no goal at the end. A crescendo of rhythms, industrial sounds, and a way to produce that reminds you of dub step music. To sum up Nautiluss proposes questions and situations through their music, but they never give an answer, their works move forward to nowhere just when you move on in darkness in a huge abandoned shed and after getting away without knowing what really frightened you: Try to feel it with the song Stygian.

On the 10th of February, for one night only, the images, sounds, and a little piece of the Berlin underground scene will move to Barcelona. The legendary Bar 25, a long time meeting place for music lovers and fans of their uninhibited parties, will host a unique night, giving us a glimpse into the movement and a taste of what it was like to party in the once emblematic venue in Berlin. Although the Bar itself is now closed, the people behind it are still active and producing events around the world, along with it’s work as a record label, keeping alive what made this place so famous a few years ago. Artists like Acid Pauli, Oliver Koletzki, Niconé & Sasha Braemer, among many other big names, are part of the soundtrack that accompanies this projection. Atendees of the event, which will be held in Poble Espanyol, will witness the documentary film that captures the spirit of this club, full of images
that record the exuberance of their hedonistic parties and the pleasure seekers who frequented them. The projection of Bar 25 DAYS OUT OF TIME is further accompanied by the music that made this club famous, Danny Faber and Philip Bader will be responsible for representing the Bar 25, along they Lyonel (Feeling Dope) and Denizer (Plötzlich am Bodden ) to bring more of the Berlin sound, plus Hit & Miss (Raw Indigo) from Barcelona. All this and more will be held on the second Sunday of February, which also kicks off the carnival season, in fact the organizers have decided to make a contest for the best costumes, the prize for which is an all inclusive weekend trip to Berlin! Just one more reason to be part of this special event that will take place in a select few European cities as part of Bar 25 tour.Not to be missed!

Eulalia Grau, was one of the most critic voices of her generation. In the early sixties she started to peep out in the artistic scene of that period. Armed just with her scissors and a restless gaze, Eulalia started her career making collages, using images cut from the mass media. With the time these pieces of art became serigraphs, emulsified clothes, murals, books, posters or films. A whole range of tools that she employed to transmit her ideas. She set her claims in the benefit of society, issues that affected or are still affecting our society. Violence, woman’s discrimination, social differences, the havoc of the technological development, the insti-
tutional and constabulary abuse of power, or the social restrictions trough the family, schools and the mass media. Her work makes us meditate about our society’s moral and the victories or failures that lead us to the situation we are nowadays. Due to these reasons and this present speech, MACBA presents the exposition called “Mai no he pintat àngels daurats”,a retrospective of her work that we could enjoy from the 8th of February to the 26th of May. Don’t miss it!

The Arts Centre of Santa Monica is so integrated in Barcelona´s everyday culture that it belongs to the local collective imagination as much as the most famous tourist sites belong to the imagination of the foreigners who visit us constantly. The most common phrase used when looking for information about the Centre online is: “from convent to Arts center.” More than a sentence, it is, along with its excellent programming, an important factor in their successful formula.
From the 23rd of the same month, the spotlight is directed towards “From Here On - The Post-photography in the Age of the Internet and Mobile Telephony”. Of course, you will say that no explanation is needed for this one. Yet I cannot contain myself, dear readers and need to share with you that behind this exhibition, comprising works by different artists, are amongst others, Clement Chéroux (procurator of the Photography Department Centre Georges Pompidou) and Martin Parr (Photographer of the Magnum Photos Agency). Perfect to get to know and understand firsthand our own time. Two proposals, two very rich temporary approaches, especially for those craving for culture.
Until February the 23rd of this year, amongst other presentations, we can attend the exhibition “The War Correspondent Archive” by Placid Garcia-Planas (1963. Sabadell, Spain.) who is a journalist of “La Vanguardia” (a Catalan newspaper). His vision of the war as a correspondent blurs the lines between journalism, literature and other forms of expression, coming to propose a new way of understanding the concept of ‘conflict’.

There are many companies that are in the printing business, but screen craft is something else. If your ultimate goal is to do your work as you want to do it, you must do it yourself.
Antidoto28 is a store-studio in Ferlandina street, which designs, manufactures and sells its own hand-crafted limited edition products. In addition, they promote and organize art events. Antidoto28 also offer two handmade textile screen printing courses, for beginners and those with some knowledge. They offer a full course at affordable prices and with materials included, on various dates in March.
Monostereo is a handmade silkscreen workshop in Barcelona with over 7 years of experience. They produce limited edition graphic art screen printing on any media, and encourage local artists. Monostero have printed posters with the line-up from Primavera Sound 2013 and The Black Keys concerts in Madrid and Lisbon last year. The more times you hear ‘Only Hope Brings Pain’, it gathers more light. I believe that there is a positive outlook in your songs despite, its title, which is not very optimistic.

Maybe, many people tell us, it’s is a dark record, that’s for sure ..or happy, you can read it as you want, it depends. As we said the other day, “while there is life there is hope.” Unconsciously we have left a door open. And each new listen finds new nuances. My favorite is “Hey, guys! I know the name of the culprits “, also gives a rhetorical start to the disc. In a neighborhood of Horta, on a terrace with amazing views of Barcelona, Jordi and Oscar work with their hands and their imagination to give new life to used skateboards. Chance led them to start this project: Oscar, and Jordi, a carpenter and a designer, are co-workers in a clothing store. One day, Oscar found in a container of about twenty half skateboards, in a garbage truck. “This is mine,” he thought and took them for re-use. One day at the store, Jordi saw Oscar’s board and was intrigued, so he asked about it and his response was that he had made it himself.
Thus, one with artisan and one with artistic training, they decided to form Long IV Life, a project with which their hands extend the life of your old skateboard: sanding, polishing and painting are some of the tools they use to revive old boards. It is their own adventure, Do It Yourself (DIY), a movement that reassesses crafts and local consumption, opposite to multinationals. Sharing a passion for skateboarding and knowing the culture, Jordi says a “special bond” is created with the board. Long IV Life lengthens the life of your board and creates art in motion. The sound of the wheels on the asphalt is characteristic of Barcelona. From where we are, we glimpse an immense city, which seems full of possibilities.
