Brazil nuts can’t be cultivated in Australia as they need the rainforests of the Amazon valley of Brazil, Peru and Bolivia to grow. Brazil nuts are grown in the Amazon rainforests and all Brazil nut production is still gathered from wild trees. Rich rainforest soils contribute to the wide range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals found in Brazil nuts. All Brazil nuts sold in Australia are imported, with the new season Brazil nuts available in Australia from May-June each year.
