Happy ay! s’ D June r e h t a F From Your Madam President
2011
Thanks to everyone, the Pigs have landed safely! I would first and foremost like to thank my officers for all they have done this year. Nothing can be done alone and they have been my support team throughout this year. We have had a lot of fun and I will cherish those memories forever. I would also like to thank all of the Sisters who stepped up and took a chairmanship. We have had an incredible year raising money for our different charities. They stepped up and with their dedication we will be able to help in so many different ways. I thank you all!! Thanks to all the Sisters who came to the meetings. It was so nice to see more Sisters who had never come to a meeting. We do try and make it fun and enjoyable. Best of luck to Kathy and Keith, our 2011-2012 Presidents. Please give her as much support as you have given me. The pigs need to rest now. — Penny Fiedler, Madam President “When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes with knowing you are working to make things better”

From Your Worthy President
A new set of Trustees for Daffodil Aerie 2308 Hello Brothers, Well, by the time that you read your June newsletter, the new Aerie Officers for 2011-2012 will have been elected and installed. We have a new set of Trustees: Bernie Gregory, Jim Anton, Berry Sader, Gary Plumb and Mike Allen. I wish them the best and look forward to working with them to make our Aerie the best in the Order. I hope that all of our Brothers and Sisters will support us and help where ever you can. We also, have a new Secretary, Jerry Miller. Jerry was one of our transition Trustees when the elected Trustees for 2010-2011 were removed and our Charter was suspended. Jerry and the other transition Trustees, Big Mike, Little Mike, Buck and Lenn did an excellent job of getting our Charter back and getting our Aerie back to functioning properly. I would also like to say thank you to our outgoing Secretary Leonard Blakely. Leonard is a dedicated Eagle and has always worked hard for the best interest of Daffodil Aerie #2308. I wish him the best. I am sure he will be busy with his responsibilities in the State and Grand Aeries. — Keith Stubblefield, Your Worthy President
Thanks for your help with our Eagle Valley raffle Thank you to everyone who donated meat and/or bought tickets for the meat raffle on April 29 to help support Eagle Valley, our very own Eagles RV park, located just outside of Cle Elum. Thanks to all of you, we raised $308 on the raffle in donations for Eagle Valley! Special thanks to Judy Skinner, Kathy Crouchet, Marcia McNall, and of course, our Club Manager Loni Andrews for their help with this raffle.
If you have not been to Eagle Valley, get out there quick — there’s something there for the whole family, with a new softball field in the planning stages now. Check them out on this link: http://www.waeagles.org/eaglevalley/EagleValley.aspx Thanks again! — Karleen Howard, Auxiliary Eagle Valley Chairman Daffodil Auxiliary #2308

A big thanks from Mark Crouchet!!! ’Brothers and Sisters,
RV’ers are having fun on their outings
I would like to thank you all for your support in my campaigning and fund-raising during the past six years, and for all of the donations — both monetary and items for auctions, as well as raffles. You have all gone above and beyond and I am truly thankful for your past support. I would love to give a special thank you to Mary Johnson and Bob Reynolds for taking on the task of co-chairing my fund-raising efforts and to Jim and Dottie Trinchini for putting on the huge spaghetti dinners with all the trimmings. This is a clear sign that at Daffodil Aerie, the Aerie and Auxiliary can work together and be successful. I am not running for State Office anytime soon because of personal issues, but please continue to work together with the new Aerie and Auxiliary Officers. They are all great members and with your help our Aerie, will continue to be the best and largest Aerie in the state. My campaign funds have been turned over to the Aerie Board of Trustees for the purchase of new chairs and tables to replace the ones that are worn out or broken so that you can continue to enjoy the fruits of your efforts. I have enjoyed being a State Officer and have learned very much and I have shared my knowledge this past year with about 37 Aeries and some Auxiliaries and I do not regret it at all. In fact, I would encourage you to get involved at any level of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. I will continue to work with the state Aerie, but not as an officer of the state. Thank you all for the great memories and help. — Fraternally, Mark Crouchet
The first weekend in May the Daffodil Roamers RV group traveled again to the vacation home of Yvonne and Gordy Anderson in Winthrop. We stay for three days. We always enjoy the Packer’s Day Events that the town puts on each year. We had more than 18 rigs that gathered this year where we enjoyed getting together for our potlucks, games and just good oldfashion socializing. We packed up on Sunday and headed for Perrigin State Park for three more days of camping and fishing. We held our annual “fishing derby” to see who could bring in the biggest fish each day. The first two days were won by Al Lilly. Billy Gailey took the prize on the third day. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect with blue skies, bright warm sunshine and wonderful scenery. We were entertained by two bald eagles and four osprey dancing above the lake, and catching fish faster than we could!! Our next outing will be on June 2-5 at the Columbia River RV Resort in Woodland, WA. This is another beautiful location right on the Columbia River chosen by our Wagon Master Bill Bell. During the month of July, we have an 11-day trip planned around the Olympic Peninsula. If anyone is interested in joining us on any of our trips, please feel free to contact our President, Jay Robinson, at (253) 848-1691, or our Secretary Sheron Mozzone at (360) 893-5671. We hold our monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Come check us out. I don’t think you will be disappointed. — Sheron Mozzone, Secretary Daffodil Roamers RV Club

From Your Incoming Madam President
New President takes reins of our Auxiliary Hello Sisters, Brothers, Friends & Family: As I am writing this first news letter article, it is raining and I am looking forward to some great sunshine this spring and upcoming summer — as I’m sure you are, too. My name is Kathy Crouchet. I will be serving as your Auxiliary President for the 2011-2012 term. It has been a pleasure working with our President Penny Fiedler and the other officers this past year. We have accomplished a lot and have much more to do. I would like to thank all of the incoming officers for accepting the nominations of office for this next year. I would also like to thank those who have accepted the responsibility of serving as a chairman or serving on a committee, as there are many. There is much work to be done, but we have fun and it’s all for a good cause. Please try to join us for our meetings which are held on the second and fourth Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Keep smiling! — Love & Luck, Kathy Crochet Your Incoming Madam President

Texas Hold’em
137 players brave the rain on May 15 Our May Texas Hold’em Tournament came in like a lion with pouring down rain, etc. We had 137 players which tied our record for the most participants. The winners were: First, Jim Steffens; second, Rob Strom; third, Shane Kissner; fourth, Bryan Boisert; fifth, (no first name) Morgan; sixth, Gregory Oster; seventh, Jamie Stenwick; eighth, Bob Shepard; and ninth, Jeff Reed. What a great tournament! Thanks for your patience on May 15 as we were trying to go on the computer. We also had a feast for $5 that Jim Anton donated to the Aerie. Thanks to the
crew and others who jumped in and helped. We could not have a game without everyone’s support and thanks to all you players who are so dedicated and showed up to play. Thank you John, the upholsterer man, for the fine job you did in repairing the Texas Hold’em table. Our next game is on Sunday, June 12. We hope we see you then. — Bob Reynolds, Chairman (253) 535-6706 or (253) 230-2308
