Happy n ee October w o l l a H From Your Madam President
It s time to enjoy all of the fall fun As the summer heat was short but sweet, we now find ourselves cruising so quickly into the fall season. The fall season, of course, started out with the Puyallup Fair and all of its excitement, fun and, of course, traffic congestion that all must deal with in one way or another. Good luck to all the families with kids back in school. May the year be successful. This month we are having a Halloween celebration party for the children on Saturday, October 29 from noon to 2 p.m. Please bring your kids and grandkids for the costume contest and other fun-filled activities. I am happy to announce that the Auxiliary has a new Children s Program coordinator, Sue Hansen. Her assistants are Stephane Hansen, Sam Spiry and Lynn Spiry. Thanks, ladies, for stepping up and agreeing to help out with this very important project. Some of our Auxiliary members are visiting the Wenatchee Eagles early this month for the Fall Conference. Enjoy the trip, be safe and have a great time. Thanks to all for the donations of time and money to assist in our fund-raising efforts this past month. We had a meat raffle for the Cancer Fund that was very successful. Special thanks to chairperson Shireen Ainsworth. The Auxiliary has initiated another 11 new members. Welcome ladies and please come on down and support your club. Remember our meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. We would love to see you here. Enjoy the fall colors and the start of the football season all you sports fans! Love and Luck! Kathy Crouchet, Madam President

From Your Worthy President
Fall means fun at Daffodil 2308 Hello Brothers and Sisters, It s that time of year again to enjoy the fall colors and get ready for the winter holidays, but first we have some fun things coming up this month. I hope that everyone has their bus ticket for the trip to Leavenworth. Loni always puts on a wonderful bus trip. We also have the adult and children s Halloween parties coming up. Switching over to business for a moment, we are going to have the first reading of By-Law and House Rule changes at our Wednesday, October 5 meeting. If you are interested in what is happening in the Aerie, you should attend the meeting. I hope everyone enjoyed their September summer. I like warm weather, so I sure did. Also, I hope that everyone enjoyed the Fair Burgers this year. I do have to apologize for not putting enough onions on the burgers. I received some bad advice. If I do the burgers again next September, I promise that there will be plenty of onions. As usual Loni did a fantastic job putting on Western Night. For those of you who didn t attend the September 7 meeting, you missed Kyle. We all were very glad to see Kyle back in his Chaplain s position. Kyle still has trouble moving around, so Brother Bernie did the leg work. We are all very happy to see that Kyle is improving every day. Finally, all of the Brothers at the meeting would like to thank our Aerie Mother Shireen Ainsworth for the fantastic cup cakes that she sent with Bob to the meeting. The only thing is that Bob hid the cup cakes from me until the meeting was over, but I figure that Bob was just watching out for the diet my wife has me on. Well as they say in the cartoons, That s all folks! Keith Stubblefield, Your Worthy President
Kyle Guinn benefit set for October 23!! A benefit for Kyle Guinn will be held on Sunday, October 23. As most of you know our Worthy Chaplain was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident on July 11, so we are going to do a benefit for him. We will have music, dinner and a silent auction. This young man nearly lost his life and we are so happy that he is progressing everyday in therapy. Please, if you have any auction items, feel free to bring them to the manager s office. If you have any questions, contact Loni. Loni Andrews, Chairman
House Rule and By-Law changes on the docket!! The first reading of proposed House Rule and ByLaw changes will be at the Aerie meeting on Wednesday, October 5. The second reading will be at the Aerie meeting on October 19 and third reading and voting will be at the Aerie meeting November 2. Darrell Sharick, Chairman
Fun in store at our October 27 meeting Sisters, are you ready for some fun?? Come to the Auxiliary meeting on Thursday, October 27 at 7:30 p.m. in costume. There will be prizes and surprises.
Past Presidents Club to adopt new bylaws!
Daffodil Roamers News
Join us and invest in many new friends Do you know what I love the most about living in the state of Washington? Every morning when I wake up I get a surprise with the weather! We have been so blessed with a great summer. It may have started out slow, but it is ending with a big hooray. We ve enjoyed beautiful blue skies and lots of lovely sunshine. And that combination makes for the best camping days. August found the Puyallup Eagles spending time with their Brothers and Sisters over at the Gig Harbor Eagles for their annual Buffalo Feed. Our group took the monetary award again for having the most members enjoying the festivities. But every year that we win the award we return it back to Gig Harbor to help offset their expenses. September we travelled to Prosser, staying at the Wine Country RV Park from September 15 through September 18. This resort is a beautiful park and right next door is a complex of 28 or more local wineries with tasting rooms and restaurants. During our stay the town of Prosser had a City Wide Garage Sale plus their Saturday Market. We had lots to do and see all the while enjoying our beautiful state. October will find us in Hoodsport at the Rest-AWhile Resort and November we will be traveling to Centralia to shop at the Outlet Mall. We are always looking for new members to join our group. We have so much fun and see lots of great sights in this fascinating state we live in. Our meetings are the first Tuesday of each month in the upstairs meeting room at 7 p.m. Consider it an investment in meeting new friends. Sheron Mozzone, Secretary, Daffodil Roamers RV Club
Happy Halloween!

Candidate Interviews On first, last Saturdays
We’re looking for our old anniversary pens! Darrell Sharick and Leonard Blakely are in the process of collecting anniversary pens. These are the pens that are given away every year to new members and old-timers. The pens have the Worthy President’s and Vice-President’s name on them, as well as the anniversary number for the year beginning in June of that year. The oldest year we have found so far is the 34th anniversary, but that doesn’t mean that is the oldest one. After that the anniversary pens we are missing are: 65, 36, 51, 56, 63 and 64. If you have any of these and would like to donate them it would be appreciated. We are building a display case for them and would like to have every anniversary year possible in the display. You may leave the pen or pens in an envelope with either of our names. You can leave your pens with the Manager, Secretary or at the bar. Thanks for all of your help in locating the missing pens. — Leonard Blakely And Darrell Sharick
Daffodil holiday shopping spree set for November 6 Join all of the shoppers on Sunday, November 6 for a fun day of shopping from a room full of holiday gifts for that special person. Start your morning by enjoying our delicious breakfast being served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., then leisurely stroll through the Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our Auxiliary/Aerie crafters work long hours preparing for this day, so let’s give them our support. If you feel the need to rest from shopping, please stop by the Bake Sale table and enjoy a cup of coffee with a delicious cookie, a slice of cake or any of our other wonderful treats. Sisters, we can always use volunteers and donations for the raffle, bake sale items, Auxiliary table staff, and serving staff for the dining room during dinner. We appreciate all of our volunteers in whatever capacity you can give. Remember, our motto is “People Helping People.” Please support our bazaar. The proceeds help pay our daily expenses, purchasing office supplies, phone bills, etc., throughout the year. If you have any questions, please contact Phyllis at (253) 841-1759. — Your Daffodil Committee

As you know the Aerie and Auxiliary put on funerat the Lake Cushman Golf Course in Hoodsport where al luncheons for the families of Aerie and Auxiliary we enjoyed three days of 80 degree weather in Washingmembers. Unfortunately we have lost many members ton! We had two days of practice on Friday and Saturthe last couple of years and have had to depend on day, August 19 and 20, which didn’t do some of us any mostly the same Auxiliary members to donate food good. for these luncheons. Sunday’s tournament game was a 4-man scramble. Texas Hold’em
9/11 victims honored at September game! 9/11’s Texas Hold’em game may have seen the attendance down, but not their spirits and willingness to join in for a few moments of silence to honor all the people who died and to thank those who gave of their time to help. We were honored to have Dave Williams, a retired fireman, who was in a motorcade escort in Ruston for one of the steel beams from the World Trade Center attack and then came and joined 79 other players. On top of that it was also his birthday. What a trooper! The September 11 winners were: First, Ken Olsen; second, Sean Monday; third, David Peterson’ fourth, Ron Strom; fifth, Glen Mellick; sixth, Noe Garces; seventh, Denny Hay; eighth, Joe Michiels; and ninth, Paul Morgan. Congratulations! Please turn in your bounty chips by the December 11 game. After that they will no longer be honored. Those of you who are qualified and are going to be in the December 11 Tournament of Champions, you need to pay your $100 by the November game. Mary
and I are the only ones you can pay the $100 to. Do not plan to pay anyone else at the Aerie as it throws off our records. One more thing, if you are not a member and plan to join, you need to do it ASAP as it takes time for the interview and to be voted on and initiated by the end of November. Our Next Game is October 9. We hope to see you then. — Bob Reynolds (253) 535-6706 Or (253) 230-2308
