From Your Madam President

From Your Worthy President

Thanks for looking after your ‘hobbled’ Madam President!!

It looks like a busy fall at Daffodil 2308

How fast another month has gone by! Since my last newsletter there have been many things that have transpired. I would hope that everyone who took in the Eagles picnic at the Swiss Park had more fun than I did. Unfortunately as I was playing in the children’s park toys with my granddaughter, I lost my footing and fell and broke my leg. I was rushed to St. Joe’s Hospital and am now, after surgery, I’m trying to heal and get around the best I can. I would like to thank all of the Sisters, Brothers, family and friends who have sent cards, flowers, food, gifts and get well wishes. Truly we are People Helping People! I appreciate all of you that have stopped by to visit me before and after my surgery, and for the help and support to and from work. The Auxiliary has initiated another 24 new members. Welcome ladies! Please come on down and support our club. Remember, our meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. We would love to see you here. May you all enjoy the rest of our summer and enjoy all of the activities and events that are offered in our club. Fund-raising activities for our charities are on-going and your assistance and donations are always appreciated. — Love and Luck! Kathy Crouchet, Madam President

Hello Brothers, Here it is September already. Do you notice that the older you get, the faster the summers go by? Well enough of talk about being old. Let’s get to some important stuff. As of this writing our Worthy Chaplain Kyle Guinn is getting better every day, which is fantastic news. He should be home. I guess the Rock ’N Rod show this year was a great success, and that Jerry Miller’s pulled pork went over really well. I say I guess, because I couldn’t be at this function. I got volunteered to help my son work on his beach place. Watch your September calendar for Western Night, Big Jim’s spaghetti dinner, and the Oktoberfest bus trip. Tickets for the bus trip to Leavenworth go on sale Wednesday, September 7. We will be picking delegates at our first Aerie meeting on September 7 for the Fall Conference in Wenatchee. So be at that meeting if you want to go to Fall Conference on September 30 through October 1. One last thing. I know that you get tired of being lectured on something, but that is my job as an Aerie officer and a proud member of Daffodil Aerie #2308. Time and time again I sit in the bar and listen to both Brothers and Sisters using the “F” word. Now I will admit to using it once in a while in private, usually when I do something dumb, but I do refrain from using it in public. Brothers and Sisters come into the bar to enjoy themselves and shouldn’t have to sit and listen to someone spouting a lot of uncouth language, so please try to remember that the bar is everyone’s home away from home! Last but not least, happy birthday to our Aerie Mother, Shireen Ainsworth. The Brothers who were at the first meeting in August, thank you for the excellent goodies. — Keith Stubblefield, Your Worthy President,

Larry Larsen wins Biff Marlow shoots the August purse!! an ace in Enumclaw There were too many events going on in our area on August 7 and we had a light turnout, but that’s bound to happen every now and then. The 89 who did play had a good time and nine winners shared the pot of $2,250. They are: First, Larry Larsen; second, Ken Olsen; third, Mike Ognoski; fourth, Josh Greene; fifth, Mike Carey; sixth, Larry Gianore; seventh, Bob Shephard; eighth, Sean Monday; and ninth, Kim Evans. We had a surprise guest. He was Kyle Guinn who was out of hospital on a day pass. You’re looking great, Kyle. Keep up the progress. Many thanks to the crew for a job well done. Our next game is on Sunday, September 11. We hope to see you then. — Bob Reynolds (253) 535-6706 or (253) 230-2308

Thanks for helping with our Cancer Fund raffle I want to send a huge thank you to all who helped with the recent meat raffle for the Auxiliary Cancer Fund. Congratulations to those winners, and thanks to everyone who helped out with donations. Stay tuned for more events to raise money to battle this horrible disease. Again, thank you for your generosity. — Shireen Ainsworth, Auxiliary Cancer Chairman

Daffodil Roamers News

RV ers enjoy a great time touring in July! On July 14 we had proximately 14 rigs meet at the Port Townsend Elks where we stayed for three nights. During our stay we got to see the Lavender Festival in Sequim, which is always a highlight. Then we were off to Shadow Mountain RV Park in Port Angeles. Here some of the guys went fishing while the women were interested in seeing Lake Crescent and the Lodge Sol Duc Hot Springs and the town of Forks with it s Twilight claim to fame. Our final destination was at Sunrise Resort in Copalis. God answered our prayers with the most gorgeous weather that weekend. Every morning there were blue skies, warm sunshine and just an easy breeze. Some of us tried our luck at the Quinault Casino near Ocean Shores (some of us were lucky and some of us were not!!). We did some shopping and all of us did a lot of eating. Our next trip will be to the Gig Harbor Eagles for their annual Buffalo Feed. They are always gracious hosts with lots of activities and fellowship. Bring your smile and your appetite. You are in for a real treat. Don t forget, if these are the kind of trips you are interested in, please join us at our monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Come check us out. I know you will like what you see. Sheron Mozzone, Secretary, Daffodil Roamers RV Club

This year s car show was dedicated in memory of Jim Samuelson (aka Sambo). We started a new award that will stay in the Aerie. It is the Jim Samuelson Sportsman Award. This year Denny Bisig was the recipient. We had 132 cars that registered that day. Thank you again to everyone who came and supported the show. Thank you to our sponsors: Mike Sader Automotive, Dan Knoll State Farm Insurance, Dr. Johns Family Dentistry, and The Kingsman . Overall we had an awesome day!
