From Your Worthy President

Annual Picnic was another great success Brothers and Sisters, we are happy to announce that despite scheduling conflicts, the Aerie Picnic at the Swiss Park in Bonney Lake was a great success. Yes, attendance was lower than expected, but all those who made it seemed to have a good time. With the nice weather and a wonderful group of volunteers, a modest profit was made. We would like your input for next year’s picnic, as we have been offered a reduced rate at the VFW campground near South Prairie, putting the price fairly even with the Swiss Park. Let us know where you would rather be by dropping a note in the Club Manager’s office door slot. Thanks again to all those who came and especially to our great volunteers. We hope to see you out next year. Coming up on Thursday, September 13, the Aerie will be serving Fair Burgers. Come support the crew this year as the Aerie faces off against the Auxiliary in our annual contest. The 13th of September is also a very important date for another reason. It happens to be the 50th birthday of your Auxiliary Madam President (who is also my wife!). Be sure to wish her a happy birthday if you happen to see her. — Dave Andrews, Worthy President

Auxiliary Cancer Fund-Raiser

The ‘Flock’ has arrived! The ‘Flock’ has arrived! With much anticipation, the “Flocking Crew” pretty much has all their eggs hatched, so to speak. With the help of some very eager Eagles, we hopefully have started our big Auxiliary Cancer Fund-Raiser by the time you get this newsletter! Some of you will be having a flock of beautiful, Pink Flamingos gracing your yards! Instructions will be included on how to proceed — mainly in giving a donation to the Auxiliary Cancer Fund. Once that is done, the “Flocking Attendants” will quickly come and remove the flock from your yard. You then, have the

progress around the city for everyone to enjoy, along with the progress of our fund-raising efforts. We are hoping for everyone to get into the action, and enjoy this effort to help those suffering with this horrible disease. Once again, all our Auxiliary Cancer monies stay in Puyallup! Watch for this flocking crew to be in the club room throughout the month of September! It’s your chance to tell someone to “Get Flocked!” — Shireen Ainsworth, Auxiliary Cancer Chairman — Debbie Anderson, Flamingo Co-Chairman

option to have another one of our Eagles flocked, provided they live within the area. If not, we shall choose someone else. You may also have the option of making a donation to obtain some “Anti-Flocking Insurance” so that no flocks will come visit your yard! You also will, of course, have the option of not participating in this, just let Shireen Ainsworth, Deb Anderson or Loni know. The “Flocking Crew” will take great care in making sure that nothing is damaged. The birds are on a very small stake that is just simply pushed into the ground and does no damage to lawns or dirt. Along with the instructions provided will be phone numbers to call. There will be a map of Puyallup area posted in the lobby and we will be tracking the flock’s
