Canterbury
Thursday 24 September at 6pm Kent is the home of hops and Canterbury is the home of the Green Hop Beer Festival and the Canterbury Food & Drink Festival. To celebrate both, the city is hosting Kent’s first ever Hop Pocket Race on Thursday 24 September at 6pm. Teams of four will be racing their hop pocket (a traditional hessian sack weighing around 70 kgs) from the Westgate Towers to Longmarket as fast as they can to compete for the East Kent Golding Cup, sponsored by Redsell’s Hop Farm. Come along on the night to join in the fun. All money raised will be donated to Porchlight who support vulnerable and homeless people in Canterbury, so it is all in a good cause too!
