Little River Band, carnival rides, and free family fun More carnival rides, more parking, more vendors, and an impressive lineup of performers headlined by a legendary rock band—Celebrate St. Peters 2013 will be bigger and better than ever. It’s happening September 20 and 21 along the lake at St. Peters’ 370 Lakeside Park. St. Peters Mayor Len Pagano said, “This is a great setting for exciting entertainment along the lake! And, it’s an affordable way to ‘Celebrate St. Peters.’ Not only is the parking and admission free, we’ve got free activities for kids and affordable carnival rides, food, and drinks.” The party at 370 Lakeside Park begins Friday, September 20 at 5pm and ends with a big bang on Saturday night, September 21, with a fireworks display at 8:30pm followed by rock legends Little River Band at 9pm on the main stage. Saturday’s main stage entertainment kicks off with Allman Brothers tribute band “The Brothers” at 7pm. Both Saturday shows are presented by KSHE-95. Fans of ‘70s and ‘80s music will enjoy Little River Band hits such as “Help Is on Its Way,” “Happy Anniversary,” “Reminiscing,” “Lady,” “Lonesome

Loser,” and more. The Fabulous Motown Revue, presented by The Big 550 KTRS and Mid Rivers Newsmagazine, will take the main stage on Friday from 7 - 11pm. Many members of this long-time local favorite have played with The Four Tops, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Temptations, and other Motown stars. Celebrate St. Peters will offer triple the amount of carnival rides (14 total) this year during carnival sessions on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon, and Saturday evening. More than 50 vendors will be on hand with food, crafts and more available from 5 - 11pm on Friday and 10am - 9pm on Saturday. Live entertainment starts at 11am Saturday on the 100.7 the Viper Celebrate Stage in the vendor area. There will be something for everyone from Elvis to polka and classic rock to the blues. Saturday afternoon will be prime time for free family fun. Kids can create art with Arty, the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre mascot, fish with Bass Pro Shops, and build with The Home Depot. At the Community News Family Stage, families can enjoy shows by

Monkey Tales Theater, storyteller Mary Garrett, Childbloom Guitar group, Joy Nack’s puppets, and Abra-Kid-Abra’s interactive magic. Organizers have added more free parking spaces in areas both inside and outside the park, along with more free shuttle buses. Continued on page 5
