Wentzville Octoberfest Wine and Art Festival mixes food and drink with art and music By Brett Auten Bigger and better. That is the motto as the Wentzville Octoberfest Wine and Art Festival returns for a second go around at the Village Center in Wentzville. The Wentzville Octoberfest Wine and Art Festival is a one day wine, art, music and food extravaganza. The event starts at 11 a.m. and comes to a halt around 7 p.m. and there are no pets, coolers or outside food and beverages. Sponsored by the Wentzville Downtown Business Association, the new look to the event is modeled after the Clayton Art Fair but with its own feel. “This is going to be banging,” Angel Magasano, of the Wentzville Downtown Business Association said. “Live music on two stages all day, a gigantic tasting tent. We took what we had last year and expanded it with a street festival.” Artists will fill the Village Center’s Historic Main Street with original artwork including a juried art show that is awarding cash prizes. Unique handcrafted items will be exhibited as well. The community is invited to participate with the Crossroads Arts Council in creating individual mosaic pieces that will be part of a permanent mural installation at Splash Station, Wentzville’s water park. In addition, folks are invited to meander up and down the streets to participate in several interactive community and personal art projects hosted by local

Moore on Life artists. The entertainment “We have a nice variety of retail shops lineup is as follows: and dining establishments here in Wentzville with even more new ones coming 11 a.m. this autumn,” Magasano said. “We hope Ron Schneider & Coyote Band this helps bring awareness to the Village (side stage) Center.” All day long several popular local mu12 p.m. sicians playing a variety of music Funky Butt Brass Band will rotate throughout day. stage) A second stage (mainthe music near the art displays will host several local artists demonstrating their crafts 2 p.m. from welding to weaving.
