TARA LEAVER For several months of the year artist Tara Leaver can frequently be found, armed with camera and snorkel, absorbed in the underwater world of Mounts Bay. Her regular sea swims provide constant inspiration for her delicate, expressive paintings on wood panel and canvas; each a visual memory of the multi sensory experience of immersing in wild water. She is currently working on a collection focused on the contemplative stillness of rock pools, available from July. Her work is available at galleries and stores both on and offline, including Tin Coast Design and Circa 21 in Penzance, Hadfield Fine Art, and at her own website. She will be participating in Cornwall Open Studios when it’s reinstated.

PRUSSIA COVE

Famous both as a source of inspiration for artists and historians alike, Prussia Cove is one of Cornwall’s most notorious former smuggling hotspots, particularly for the infamous 18th century smuggler John Carter ‘The King of Prussia’. Aside from the legendary tales, Prussia Cove is a slice of stunning natural beauty on this part of the south coast, covered with a mirage of coastal flowers. Consisting of four small coves and several cottages and houses, the area is accessed by the coastal footpath and is the perfect spot for a bit of en plein air painting and sketching.
