Have you ever noticed the way a tiny plant shoot just beginning to germinate reaches toward the sun? Have you ever enjoyed a ripe peach, its sweet juices running down your chin, and wondered where it came from, where it grew? Have you ever brought home a bouquet of market flowers and placed them on the kitchen table in awe of summer’s splendor? Every fruit, vegetable, and flower starts from a microscopic seed placed in the cool earth. And with loving care, the seed grows and becomes something we can’t help but admire.
