e mostly dwell on the area of relationships as we have come to understand that the relationships we have affect our relationships with God. God made man and made him relational, however there is a way he expects us to carry ourselves in those relationships that will not tear us apart from him and his grace. In this magazine we discuss that and equip the youth and single adults and even that in marriage on working relationships as God calls us to. We are aware that the world has many experts when it comes to love, relationships, dating, marriage and sex and they all have been generous to share their opinion with us, but this time we choose to look to the greatest of all experts, the all knowing God and his word on the matter.
O
ur relationship on earth is to be a reflection of our relationship with God, We are the bride of Christ and we must teach our generation that to keep them from falling from grace. To allow them to be ready and prepared for the bride groom when he comes, for he is coming, we just do not know when. We want our generation to stay focused and determined to wait on God and not miss him when he comes as illustrated in math 25:1-13. Shalom

Welcome
W
hat started off as a hobby on my part has not become an online magazine that has a great following and has made impact on people’s lives. In November 2010, I got the idea to actualize my vision and get the magazine started. There were many challenges but eventually it got easier, with time it developed into what it is today and for that we can Only thank God. This year has been a blessed year, we have seen the birth of a new Country, The Nation of South Sudan and for those in Kenya we have seen the construction of new roads! We have also seen the destruction brought about by Al-Shabab and we continue to pray for your troops and Nation moving forward. Indeed 2011 has been a year of many new things and blessings. We also got to witness Kenyans coming together for Kenyans to eradicate hunger in one of our regions and that was an amazing act of patriotism and selflessness. I bless every Kenyan who took part in that and we thank you. Over the year I we have also seen our reader’s number increase and even syndicate with Capital Lifestyle Magazine and for that we are grateful. Harusi Magazine has come a long way and will go even further in preparing the bride of Christ and ensuring that the word of God is heard especially in concerns with how we are to conduct ourselves in relationships, understanding God and sex and much more. We are blessed to be here and blessed to still go on in 2011. In this issue we go the extra mile and bring you more. We also caught up with one of the featured artist for our most popular issue of the year to do a follow up on life after marriage and more. We are also blessed to be featuring a songbird who has been blessed with the gift of music and has seen her efforts awarded in 2011. We also get to introduce a young lady that is one to keep our eye out for on the fashion scene. All in all we thank God for 2011, for members of the Harusi team, from contributors, Editors, photographers, grafix designers and more and look forward to great 2012. Welcome and Shalom Thitu Kariba

Dating
Dating after marriage Many people assume that once you get married that there is no need to date any more. They assume that the dating part was all about pursuit, and not that you have each other till death do u part, there is no need to date. If we are to look at it as dating being gathering of data, then you can see that in marriage there is great need to continue dating. In a marriage you are the one whom should know you spouse more than any other and there is something new to be learnt every day about each other. When you are under the same roof, sharing a space and being so close an intimate, there are also more tendencies for there to friction. In marriage we move from seeing each other once in a while and parting ways, to seeing each other all the time and being together daily. In marriage, you cannot take a break, or a few days apart to cool down, you come home to each other after a fight and have to share a bed. Again if there is a time and place that dating should be done it is in a marriage, there is need to gather information about what rubs your partner the wrong way, about what buttons one should never push and how to avoid things that make them go BOOM! When it comes to marriage we tend to think that the job is done at I do, but it really is where it really begins. Marriage means that you are with this person for better or worse till death do you part. Dating is one of the ways we can find out their betters and their worse. If you are to live together in a happy marriage, then you have to get to know each other, you have to be best of friends and you have to get along. This cannot be achieved if you are strangers to one another; you have to invest in getting to know the other person more. I have heard of married couples who hardly spend time together and hardly know what’s going on in the others life, then I have heard of couples that are best friends, that have a date night every week where they go out, talk, catch a movie, have fun and the difference it has on the marriage is phenomenal. Dating after marriage, after the I do; and during the journey till death do u part is not only a good idea but necessary.

Marriage
My want for your need I don’t want a big family; in fact I don’t want to have loads of kids. I am thirty now and I am single, I don’t want to have kids later in life, I don’t want to be changing diapers and breast feeding let alone getting pregnant at 35. I don’t want to gain the weight, I don’t want the additional stretch marks and varicose veins, I don’t want to go through labor, and I certainly do not want something else taking up occupancy in my womb that would require a change of life style for months. It’s my body and I should have a choice about what happens to it. Up to that point I am sure that some people may agree with me and some may think I am just being selfish. The truth however is, we all have something we want and don’t want to be asked of us where our bodies are concerned. Some of you don’t want to change how you dress; some of you don’t want to have to lose the weight. When I put it that way we all most certainly have something we don’t want. What we want is the one who says they love us to love us as we are, to consider what we have to 8

give up, to consider what we want, but, that is not always the case. You have a want while they have a need. Though I want to have few or no kids at all, he needs a big family with loads of kids, while you want to dress how you have always dressed, she needs you to wear a button up shirt and a tie, while you want him to love your body as is, he needs you to lose some weight. At times this need for change may be there before marriage and other times it may arise during marriage. Many times the one being asked to change will have list of points to bring up as to why they should not and the most common one is that if they loved you, they would not ask you to change. I agreed with this until this morning. My friends asked me yesterday how I would react if instead of a spouse, it were God who was asking it of me. This morning I had a sit down with God and he broke it down. He showed me the life of Jesus. Jesus came to earth as a savior of men; he died a horrible death all for God’s love for us. Jesus asked God, his own father that if it be his will to take the
Marriage cup or burden from him. Jesus however knew why he was sent and more over Jesus had submitted himself to God, in spirit, soul and body. Jesus traded in his want of our need. The bible then tells us that we are not to just say we love each other but to show it, it says that we are to lay up our lives in sacrifice even as he did for one another. In marriage, we submit ourselves wholly to our spouses as unto God, wholly means that we also lay up our bodies as living sacrifices, we lay them up for our spouses as unto God. Furthermore what that means is that we are to trade in what we want for what they need. There are some things that count as abuse and mistreatment of the body and that is not what I am talking about, what I learnt and understood this morning is that, I may not want more kids but I need to give up what I want for what he needs, I want to be loved as I am, but they need you to lose weight, I want to dress how I always have but they need you to change. I know it is hard to swallow but like my friends put it; we are to think of it as God asking and us doing it for God because after all we are to submit to our spouses as unto God himself. Our bodies must be laid up as living sacrifices in marriage and submitted, if we are not ready to do that then we are not ready to marry just yet, and if you already are married, now you know there is more to submission that you thought and that Gods grace is sufficient to do that which he has asked. Married or single, we are to ask God to create in us what he wants us to be for our spouses and our marriages. We are to put our trust not in our spouses but in God knowing that as we submit we do it as on to God, in obedience to God and that he will protect us as we do. He will not allow your spouse to abuse you, but as you submit God will reward you though your spouse. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but his grace is sufficient. Until we do, we are to understand that we are not being selfish but disobedient to God. We are holding back our bodies from him while he calls us to lay them up as living sacrifices. Trust him with your body. It will be alright, have the kids, and loose the weight, change the way you look. It will be alright.
The language of love All though we all created in the image and likeness of God, we are all different, we have different personalities, different likes and dislikes and we also have different love languages. Communication is the make and break point of any relationship whether it is personal or business. Failure to communicate in a language that can be understood by the other party means failure in your relationship. Communication is the way we transmit and gather information, communication leads to growth and development and thus is very crucial to your relationship. What many may not know is that there are also various languages of love that we all have and use to show and receive love. One love language is touch. There are people who will not feel that you love them no matter how much you say it If you do not show it with touch. Touch here, is not strictly sexual but it could be as simple as a hug, stoking their face, hand holding and the like. If you do not touch them they do not know you love them. Another love language is that of quality time, here one feels love because their partner chooses to spend time with them doing things they enjoy, it could be going to the beach, going for a drive, watching a movie. Any time spent with one whose primary love language is quality time does the trick in sending the message across loud and clear that “I love you. There are five love languages in total and now we move on to gifts. There are some who feel that if you love them you will show it by investing in gifts for them. Many may get the wrong idea here and think that these people are materialistic and that would be wrong. This love language is not based on quantity but the Harusi Magazine

Sex quality of the gift that also does not mean that the gift is expensive but that it is thoughtful, meaningful and intimate. This could be their favorite flowers, their favorite scent from other even their favorite desert from that restaurant where you proposed. It is all about being thoughtful, special and intimate gifts. The last two are service and affirmation. Acts of kindness and service, could go a long way in saying I love you. Picking up the dry cleaning, washing the car, helping with the dishes, all this could communicate love by showing that you care for them, you love them and want to make their lives a little easier by lending a helping hand. Although all the above are means of communication love, the other is words of affirmation. One may not feel that you actually do love them if you will not take the time to call them, tweet, text, email or use any means to communicate through the day and let affirm them, praise them. They are not insecure nor do they have low self esteem they just need to hear a thank you for a job well done, to hear words that uplift them, as the bible says sweet words are like medicine to the bones. As in everything else love too has its own language. The best way for us to communicate effectively in love is to know our language and the one of the one we are with. May times the way people show love is the way the most desire to be loved and thus that is their love language. The best thing to do is to mirror their actions of love and you will be safe. As the bible says, I would advise that in any case you do not awaken love before its time.

Bed time My friend and I were talking last night, and we wondered how it is that a couple can be so in love one minute and then the next they seem to be so angry and bitter with each other especially if they had a child. Many times, I used to be told that women get pregnant at times to trap men. In our culture, if you were to get a girl pregnant you were required to marry her. This however is not the case today, when I got pregnant, I did not want to marry the man I got pregnant with, nor did he want to marry me. Moreover, the pregnancy seemed to be the death of our relationship and the beginning of anger, hate and bitterness. We often hear of men complaining they got baby mama drama, we often here that single mothers are bitter and angry women, but what we often do not here is that they were made that way. In the beginning the man is so in love with her, he treats her like a queen, he proceeds to have sex with her and in most cases they promise that they will always be together. The couple go ahead to have sex without having taken into consideration the responsibility that comes with what happens in that bed. I mentioned once that sex is Gods gluing mechanism, it makes the two one and it is also his technique of having us multiply and fill the earth. In a relationship where sex is involved, one of the two or both of the purposes of sex will occur. They two become attached and or also get pregnant. I can’t speak for everyone else, but once I said I was pregnant, it became like a game of 20 questions. It was all about whether I was on the pill, when I last took it, all about my cycle and why or how I did not prevent it from happening. Immediately, I could see that the man was trying to detach themselves from the consequence and responsibility that comes with, after that nothing worked. Sex is God’s plan and it has a purpose, at this point, I am reminded of the word that says, a man may have many plans in his heart but, never the less, Gods plan shall prevail. The couple in most cases just plans to be in a relationship, and the sex is just another thing they do but they do not plan to become one or get pregnant, after all they are not married.
Talking spousesAre you or your spouse abusive? Many times we assume that being abused in a relationship means being battered physically, but did you know that you can be abused verbally, psychologically and spiritually? One will find that in one way or another they have been abusive or been abused in ways than one. Sex will live out its purpose whether you are married or not. Sex was designed by God for marriage, and it will not change it. God given dictates for you not to have fun with it outside its jurisdiction. Sex is designed to make the two of you one and to give you children. Sex is designed for the marriage bed, where the two have vowed till death do us part and can then become one, where the two have plans for a family and will rejoice at the news of being pregnant. The bible says we are not to awaken love before its time. God is not trying to be selfish; He is trying to protect us from the consequences of the bed without the marriage. It really is like driving without a license and like the good Father he is, he says wait till the time is right to take him or her to bed because there are responsibilities that come with it. Anger, bitterness, pain, hatred, depression, abortion and even death could cometh about if you do it at the wrong time. If you are not married, it is not time for bed. Do not awaken love before its time; trust in him when he says in his time he will make all things beautiful.
I recall being in a relationship where the one I was with constantly talked down at me, they would make me feel small and tear me down only to feel better about themselves. Calling your spouse words that are demeaning making them feel like less of a man; for not paying a bill or less of a woman for not being able to bare you a male child is verbal abuse and in a way it is also psychological too. Verbal abuse would be considered calling your spouse names for one reason or other and in this case there may be upset but no reason to call them names. Are you verbally abusive or abused? Psychological abuse comes when the one you are with attacks your state of mind and how you think about yourself. Instead of building you up they tear you down. They can tell you that you are nothing without them, that you are good for nothing, and that even if you left them no other would ever like a thing like you, they could compare you to another man or women and say that they are so much better than you . This act of abuse could also be in the way you are treated, perhaps they deny you any affection, they handle you in a rough manner, and they treat you like trash. All this changes your mindset about you and is very destructive. Are

Talking Spouses you psychologically abusive or abused? Spiritual abuse may sound strange but it does happen. The bible tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. I have heard of cases where women marry men who are non believers only to have the man then refuse her to attend church, pray and more, others could be in a situation where you were in one religion and have been forced to convert to something that does not agree with you spiritually and you find that you are spiritually oppressed. There are some who overdo the spiritual thing and spend more time at church than at home and that is wrong; being asked to stop is not spiritual abuse but your marital duty. What I am talking about here is totally denying your partner the right to their own spiritual freedom of expression and growth. Are you spiritually abusive or abused? Lastly there is the one we are all too familiar with that involves physically beating your partners. There may be a reason to want to hit another, just never a good enough one; just do not do it. Never hit your wife or husband. NEVER!!! Are you physically abusive or abused? The bible says we are to consider one another and we are to deal with each other graciously. It also tells us that we are not to deal treacherously with our wives. We would like to let you know that there is help for abusive situations and that you do not have to be in one. Reach out and let us help.

Health Christmas is usually characterized by feasting, drinking, exchanging gifts, and generally overindulging. The weight people put on during the Christmas season takes a lot of time to get rid of and it is therefore important that you take healthy meals that will not lead to increased weight. There are several tips that will help you avoid putting on the extra kilos and these are; • Do not go to a party hungry – you will eat more and faster when you are hungry and a big chunk of this food will be converted into fat. You should eat a wholesome breakfast if you will be attending a party later on. • Small portions – do not shy away from taking nice drinks, sweets, chocolates, and dessert, but ensure that you take small portions. Space your portions throughout the day so that your body has enough time to digest it.

A Guide To Healthy Christmas Eating • Try other versions of alcohol – drop the beers, the cider, the Bailey's and the Kahlua and go for dry wine, spirits and Bloody Marys with diet mixers since these have fewer calories. This is, however, only if you cannot quit drinking altogether. Alcohol and coffee dehydrate the body and you should therefore take a lot of water throughout the Christmas season. • Exercise – do outdoor activities such as playing games with loved ones and walking wherever you are going since exercising helps to burn fats. • Know what to eat – consider expert advice on the best meals and avoid those that will add to your weight. Health magazines and other sources will tell you good foods include fruits, vegetables, and fibre-rich foods while bad foods include processed sugars, trans fats, saturated fats, and cholesterol.
Health
What should a Health Plan for 2012 Include? I is important that you start the new It yyear with a health plan. A health plan keeps you focused since you p will have something to guide you. w Being healthy means you will be B happy throughout the year, it saves h yyou money in medical costs. So, what sshould your health plan include? 1) Dieting – dieting is one of the most effective ways of staying healthy. When dieting, consider eating small portions spaced out throughout the day, avoiding saturated fats, cholesterol, trans fats, salt, and processed sugars, avoiding red meat and replacing it with white meat such as fish and poultry and eating vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. 2) Exercising – exercising regularly ensures that you are healthy. Exercising could be as simple as walking to work, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, doing some of the chores yourself, swimming, and doing power walks. 3) Weight loss – losing weight will help you prevent cardiovascular diseases and other diseases such as diabetes. The best way to lose weight is to combine exercising and dieting. 4) Lifestyle change – change your lifestyle to increase your chances of having a healthy year. You should avoid habits that contribute to weight gain and to over indulgence in alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs. Consider going out to bars less, dropping friends who encourage you to engage in drug or alcohol abuse, changing the way you enjoy your vacation, spending more time with family members and pending more time outdoors to avoid sitting in front of the TV all day.

Wealth • Gift money or gift vouchers – iit is easy to get carried away when buying gifts since the best and the b most unique gifts are expensive. m You should therefore consider Y giving gift vouchers or money. This g iis also advantageous in that you get unparalleled convenience since you u need not shop around and there is no n rrisk of giving a gift that the recipient will not appreciate. w Shop online – the best way to • ssave money is to shop online. You ccould buy 'nearly new' gifts in sites llike eBay. Use cash – shop using cash • because it is easy to get carried away One of the most commonly repeated mistakes world over is overspending during the Christmas and New Year festivities. You should remember that Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ, God's greatest gift to man, and less about dressing up, eating, drinking, and exchanging gifts. Getting into debt during the Christmas season is particularly dangerous for your financial health since kids will be going back to school in January and there will be bills to pay. There are several tips that will help you in budgeting this Christmas and these include; • Make a budget – determine how much money you have and then make a budget. Budget for your travels during the holiday season, for food, for drinks, for new clothes, and for gifts. Just as important as making a budget is sticking to it no matter what. Only spend what you have saved – do not borrow money to spend during the Christmas festivities. Save through out the year for your Christmas kitty.

Budgeting for your Christmas shopping
Wealth
Entering the new year Debt Free
Most people world overspend during the Christmas season. Most of the spending is on gifts, clothes, food, and drinks. It is important that you end the year debt-free so that you do not start the new year in debt. There are several tips that will help you in this and they include; 1) Save for the Christmas festivities – start saving for the Christmas and New Year's festivities early. You could buy the gifts early to avoid last minute rush. 2) Budget – create a budget based on the money you have. Do not borrow to fund your Christmas. Just as important as creating a budget is sticking to it. You could give money or gift vouchers instead of gifts since buying gifts often leads to overspending since the best and the most unique gifts are usually more expensive.
4) Avoid using credit cards – it is possible to get carried away when shopping using a credit card. You should therefore use cash for all your gift purchases. If you like the convenience of paper-less banking, you could always get a debit card. 5) Tone down the Christmas celebrations – Christmas is all about celebrating the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. If you just do not have the money, simply have low-key celebrations in the church and at home. 6) Earn more – if you are constantly broke when entering the new year, find other ways of earning extra income. You could start a home-based business, you could get a better paying job, or you could work harder to get a promotion.
3) Seek professional help – there are debt counsellors who help people stay out of debt and manage their debts through such methods as debt consolidation.

Food and Wine
Food and Wine Matching this Christmas
• Foods that have a naturally high acid content such as fruits and cheeses go well with younger wines with higher acidity such as Riesling, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon Blanc. • Foods that are highly seasoned with salt and/or spices pair well with loweralcohol, fruity wines such as Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, dry Rosé, Pinot Noir, and Riesling. • Foods that are delicately cooked and flavoured such as smoked, steamed, or poached foods require delicate wine matches. • Foods that are rich and hearty require fuller bodied wines such as Syrah/ Shiraz, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay.
As you prepare your Christmas menu, it is important that you match your foods with your wines properly. Some of the bad traits that result from inappropriate pairing of food and wine include nondesirable metallic flavours, extra sweetness, bitterness, and alcoholic properties. There are several simple, sure-fire techniques for effective pairing of foods and wines. • The old wine and food matching rule is primarily red wine with red meat and white wine with poultry or fish. • If you are preparing a steak Christmas dinner, pair it with a sweet wine. • If your wine has a citrus feel, then it will go well with chicken in a butter or garlic source. • If you are service a barbecue, go for wines that have high alcohol content. • If your wine contains a lot of tannin, pair it with dishes that are rich in protein or salt. 18

• Foods that are sweeter and savoury such as honey roasted ham or pork are best matched with medium sweet or off dry wines such as Riesling and Chenin Blanc. • Desserts and puddings will only go with well-rounded sweet or dessert wines.
Red Wines to Serve at the New Year's Dinner
It is important that you know the best red wines to serve during this New Year's dinner. Making the choice is not always easy since there are so many options and because tasting is not always an option. There are several wines that will never fail you and these include; Cabernet Sauvignon – this is a red wine from France's Bordeaux region. The wine is matured for between 5 and 10 years and it comes with a mellow-flavour. The wine is often blended with other grapes such as Merlot for greater softness. The wine is medium to full-bodies and it has high tannin level. The wine goes well with red meats, red pasta dishes, dark chocolate, and strong cheeses. Pinot Noir – the grape that makes Pinot Noir grape is difficult to grow since it needs climates that have consistently warm
days and cool nights. The wine is grown in California, Oregon, New Zealand, Germany, Australia and Italy. The red wine is lighter coloured and flavoured and it has sweet undertones of tomatoes, berries, cherries, and plums. The wine goes well with poultry, lamb, fish, ham, pork, cream sources, and spicy seasoning. Zinfandel – this wine has been grown in Californian since the mid-1800s, but it originates from Italy. The wine has a rose to pink colour and it has a light flavour. It goes well with white and red meat, with hearty fish, with burgers and with spicy dishes. Merlot – the wine has its origins in the Bordeaux region of France. The soft and lush wine is medium-bodied and it has a juicy fruit flavour and low tannin content. This means the wine goes well with red meats, pork, salads, and pasta. Harusi Magazine

be maintained to run smoothly. Let me give a simple example of this: There are certain Toyotas that come with an engine called a D-4 engine. Now this particular engine is not very robust when exposed to Kenyan petrol (and all the impurities contained therein) so it must be serviced exactly at the service intervals, it must be lubricated with synthetic oil and it is advisable to fuel it with V-Power fuel (or some other low octane fuel). Cars with D-4 engines will typically be cheaper to buy than cars with standard EFI engines. But when buying the D-4, one must be ready for the extra running cost. New Year, New Wheels 3. It’s a new year, and for some, the new start is the perfect reason to make a change in their choice of means of locomotion. Whether that change is from a matatu to a Vitz or from a Prado to a Range Rover, a few universal factors can be considered. 1.
Image
This may not be a huge consideration but it is always worth it to take some time to think about what you are trying to put across to others and whether the new car you wish to get will send the right messages. Remember, you need to ensure that what you drive reflects what you wish to be seen as.
Budget
This is the most basic consideration. How much should be spent on the car? Be sure not to overstretch yourself. The New Year comes with many expenses (especially if you have a family) so make sure you remain well within your budget. 2.
Running Costs
This is related but often at odds with number 1 above. It is often the case that a car is cheap to buy but has high running cost. Try to do some research to figure out what the maintenance needs of your car will be. Speak to owners of the model you have in mind, seek the opinions of a few mechanics. Be sure that you will be able to maintain the car as it needs to Harusi Magazine

Why Get Travel Insurance When Going Away for Christmas?
The insurance policy will cover repatriation to your motherland following medical treatment, sometimes including accompaniment by medical professionals. If you die in the country you visit, the insurance policy will cover the return of the remains. Transporting human remains is very expensive. The policy will overs trip cancellation and interruption, including the cost of changing the duration of the trip, the cost of extended stays in hotels, the cost of missing a flight back home, and the cost of changing flights. The travel insurance policy will cover legal expenses and it will cover personal liability such as when you damage property or you hurting a third party. The policy will cover lost, stolen, or damaged personal effects, travel documents, and baggage.
If you are planning to go away for Christmas this December, do not leave home without an insurance cover. Travel insurance cover is actually a requirement in most countries. There are several reasons why you need a travel insurance cover and these include;
Go through the fine print of your insurance policy to understand the limitations of the policy you take. You should note that most insurance covers do not cover preexisting medical conditions like diabetes and asthma. Most covers also exclude injuries that result from acts of God such as earthquakes, war, and terrorism and you should therefore avoid visiting high-risk countries.
You will be covered should you get sick while travelling. All the hospital bills will be met by the insurance company. The insurance policy will cover airlifts and other medical transport. This is invaluable since medical transportation and evacuation is often very expensive, especially if you are not in your own country.

2) Did you know right away that this relationship would last this far? Why? No, I did not...but i wanted it to and i had to show that to her. We started knowing each other through a friendship first and it took the shape I had hoped for a few months down the road.

In a large part of the world, I believe marriage has changed significantly. Part of that change is due to the majority of women heading back into the work force which has changed the family dynamic drastically. However I believe the greatest difference in marriages today versus marriages in the past, is that many people no 3) Do you think having children have an affect longer hold the value of commitment and on the marriage? 4) What is your favorite part of marriage? What makes it your favorite part?
8). There is allot of divorce these days even in the church what are some thing Christian couples need to be aware about that could lead to their downfall and even your own in marriage?
Sharing life together. I have someone I can be myself to. I love having a constant teammate by my side to walk through life with, the ups, the downs and everything in the middle. There is nothing like growing with your best friend. 5) What is your idea of a typical marriage? I have always seen marriage to be an adventure... One that shapes you more into the person you were created to be. I never want my marriage to be “typical”. I feel once

your wisdom. You ask for a wife/husband you need to keep asking for help on how to keep her/him happy by doing the right things daily. 9). How do kids strengthen and weaken the relationship? It gives you a whole new perspective and another side of the picture you will not know, unless you have kids. Children are one of God’s greatest blessings upon a marriage, they bring a deep joy and love between a husband and wife, however with any new change there are adjustments that must be made as well. Children place a new and different demand on a marriage, that could lead to heightened tension and stress if not handled right. I believe as long as you and your spouse continue to communicate and give each other some extra grace and patience with all the changes, having children will have fulfilled God’s purpose in your lives. 10). If planned, what makes the time right to have children? I am not really sure if there is a “perfect time” to plan on having children. I know most people would say once you are “financially” stable... However I believe you will know in your hearts. You, your wife/husband and God. You just know

11). How do you handle disagreement and problems? Because Kerah and I have a mutual love and respect for each other, we handle any issue through communicating our thought and feelings right away. We have never had an issues with disagreements that turn into major arguments, but if we did our plan is to strip naked and see if it continues...and well of course it STOPS... On a serious note, we just sit down together and talk. Never ever take it to the bedroom. 12). What was your biggest fear getting married and what is your biggest fear now? Being able to provide for my wife and kids. The only fear I want to continue having is for God. I talked my fears over with Him and He told me, as long as I’m close to Him, He will provide, He will make me successful. I honestly had no fear marring Kerah, my heart was completely confident and at peace walking down that isle on our wedding day. I don’t know that I really have any fear now after being married... I would say my deepest prayer is that everyday we are given, we use it to draw ourselves closer to being the people God intended us to be and to developing the marriage God intended us to have.

Nine Flowers After My Apocalypse Gak De Mabior Fashion is my art and creative expression. I feel deeply connected to all things creative, especially in a visual and aesthetic context. One of my favorite pass times is breakfast, ftv and image archiving online, all together at any time of the day. I get a lot of my inspiration from the Internet, researching random topics like the universe and figuring out how to translate the images I see into an interesting and wearable outfit. When I was creating this collection, the images in my mind were of a kind of fashion apocalypse, the state of my studio and constant power cuts made this easy to conjure up. It was a landscape of random fabrics, accessories and old clothes strewn about and abandoned. I was quite inspired by the animated movie 9. The mood in the film and the aesthetic qualities are what I based my own apocalypse on The creative possibilities for deconstruction, reconstruction, hobo chic and randomized style combinations, lay endless. These are the flowers I salvaged from the post apocalyptic fashion wonderland in my studio‌ 54

Le er from Miss Boss- New year’s revela on 2011 has had to have been one of my most trying years, though I enjoyed it and thank God for it, I definitely had my challenges. I met new friends, old friends and lost some too. 2011 was my year for new beginnings and indeed many things were new to me. Many mes I had nothing and no one else to count on but God, however He is all I needed. There are mes when the path seems so new that there seems to have been no other person to travel that road before you. It felt as though I was making a new path through the wilderness and Jehovah was my GPS. I thank him because he has never failed before and he for sure was not going to start with me. As we wind up the year, I do have to tell you that nothing not even the year is ever over ll God says it is over. Some of you may have already lost hope because it is December and you wonder, what could possible change at this me? Well I have to say that it take s God the very same effort to do things on Jan 1st that takes to do it on Dec 31st. As long as there is a week, a day, a minute or a second le in this calendar, then there is s ll me for God to turn things around for you. Many of us need to enter the New Year with a new revela on of what a mighty God we serve. Whatever God has been teaching you this year, whatever he has promised or revealed for the next year, shall come to pass. For a while I would look back on 2011 and wonder what I achieved. I really wanted my work and business to take off, I wanted a well paying job but instead what I found was that I was the one giving and giving. God reminded me that there is a me for everything and before we can get; we have got to give, before we can reap a boun ful harvest we must sow plenty of seed. I have a new revela on for the New Year, that is it my me for the harvest. I stand on that word no ma er what I see coming my way, I remind myself that it is a principle that if you give you get, if you sow then you harvest and know that it shall not fail me. God shall not fail me. I urge all of our readers not to just enter the New Year with a resolu on to lose weight or quit smoking, but to go deeper than that, look to what God has in store for you, the bigger picture and walk in the path that he will map out for you. Grab a hold of your new year’s revela on and know that no ma er what comes your way in January, March October or December, God does not go back on his word. Shalom Miss Boss.
