STAY AND PLAY POLICY: Rated Travel is proud to be the official hotel provider for the New York City Cup. Rated Travel will be required to manage the housing policy requirements and document all economic impact from teams participating in the tournament. Official Policy: All participating teams (outside a 90 driving miles of registration address) are required to book a minimum of 6 room nights per team through the official tournament housing partner with a 3 night stay, Rated Travel (example: 6 rooms for 3 nights each). Rated Sports Group and the surrounding city partners have arranged for Rated Travel to support all registered teams with their accommodations in a timely and friendly manner. All teams inside 90 driving miles of the venue, are encouraged to book within the official travel program offerings, but is not a requirement. Rated Travel will map the registration address against the venue address to determine the 90 mile rule and registrants within 90 driving miles will automatically be marked as housing policy approved and no further action is necessary. Please do not make any direct reservations on your own with the property. Getting to Randall’s Island
BEAUTIFUL RANDALL’S ISLAND – AN OASIS IN THE MIDDLE OF NEW YORK CITY, RANDALL’S ISLAND PARK COMPRISES MOST OF AN ISLAND IN THE EAST RIVER, BETWEEN EAST HARLEM, THE SOUTH BRONX AND ASTORIA, QUEENS. Randall’s Island Park is home to 60+ fields, and home of the NYC CUP Soccer Showcase! Randall’s Island is approximately half of all the athletic fields in Manhattan. These fields accommodate a variety of sports, including soccer, softball, baseball, football, lacrosse, field hockey and rugby. Randall’s Island Park has both synthetic and grass fields with a limited number of them being lighted for night play. Getting to Randall’s Island: MTA BUS The M35 bus runs to the Island from the Northeast corner of 125th Street and Lexington Avenue. Transfer is available from the Lexington Avenue 4, 5 or 6 subway at 125th Street. Walk/Bike: Randall’s Island Park offers miles of pedestrian and bicycle pathways, mostly along its scenic waterfront, accessible from paths and points in Manhattan, the Bronx and Queens. Car: All vehicular access is via the RFK Triborough Bridge. Once on the RFK Triborough Bridge follow signs to Randall’s Island, which is located directly under the toll plaza. If navigating with GPS, please use “20 Randall’s Island Park, New York, NY 10035 as your destination. MTA Bridges & Tunnels charge a toll of $8.00 to access the Island, but there is no toll upon exiting. Shuttle: The Randall’s Island Park Alliance operates complimentary shuttles around the Park’s northern and southern loops. Shuttles run on weekends from 8 AM to dusk. Parking: Because there is very limited parking on the Island, we encourage visitors to walk, bicycle and/or take public transportation. Free parking is available only in designated parking lots. Tickets will be issued for parking outside designated parking lots. Additional convenient off-island parking for a fee is also available on the Manhattan side of the 103rd Street Footbridge, at MPG Garage 440 E 102nd Street. TAKE IT TO THE TOP OF THE ROCK The newly opened Top of the Rock Observation Deck on the 67th, 69th and 70th floors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza offers one of the most impressive views of one of the most impressive cities in the world. It’s open until midnight for a romantic visage of the twinkling stars above mirroring the glittering lights from the city below. THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART From the early 20th century portraits and sculptures to the steel mastery of Frank Stella, the Met is one of the foremost collections of fine art in the world. The museum is so expansive and visual; you should plan on spending an entire day here. If you’ve never been, get on a flight to New York City and go see some fine art. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes! RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL Is there a more American theater than Radio City Music Hall? This timeless testament to entertainment has captivated visitors since the 1930s and no other dance troupe will ever hold the esteem in the hearts of Americans like the Rockettes.
MADAME TUSSAUDS WAX MUSEUM Where else in the world can you have a picture taken with Britney Spears, President Bush and Jack Sparrow? This world-famous wax museum is one of the most visited spots in New York and you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to visit these stunningly accurate figures. BROADWAY If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. And without a doubt, you should try to make it to a Broadway show! This is the most famous theater district in the world, and you can choose from timeless classic productions like “Chicago” at the Ambassador or a newer stage rendition of “Mary Poppins” at the New Amsterdam Theater. Either way, no trip to New York is complete without some singing and dancing. TIMES SQUARE It doesn’t have to be New Year’s Eve to enjoy Times Square in New York City. As the heartbeat of NYC, Times Square signifies everything that the city represents. The excitement, the glamour, the independent free-spiritedness and artistic qualities of New York are all on display in this timeless spot. One of the best places to begin sampling true New York night life. CARNEGIE HALL An entire trip can be dedicated to Carnegie Hall and its collection of delicious restaurants, its enticing gift shop and educational museum. As one of the premiere concert halls in the nation, Carnegie Hall is a national institution.
