PROFILE 181 Wingrove Street is a set of two townhouses - one built for the client and her family, and the neighbouring built for her elderly parents. One of the unique features of this project is that one townhouse was to be Passive House certified, whereas the neighbouring one was only intended to aim for high performance without the extra steps and costs necessary for certification. This lead to several unique and often complex junction details being required, as well as a high level of attention to detail in order to correctly demarcate and maintain both construction standards. Another unusual feature of this project was that the client herself was the structural engineer - while this meant that all drawings were subject to greater scrutiny than on a more typical project, it was also an excellent opportunity to directly collaborate with all parties seamlessly to ensure the optimal outcome, and was fantastic opportunity to develop my own knowledge in this area. All wet areas to comply with the latest edition of the National Construction Code BCA Vol. 2 3.8.1.2 and AS 3740. Application of extra coats of polyurethane to the timber boards when used timber floor in wet areas as laundry. Floor to be sealed against all cabinetry and skirting. Splashbacks shall be imprevious for 150mm above sinks, throughs, and hand basins within 75mm of the wall

plumbing:

Ceramic tiles or other approved imprevious material to walls above showers to 1800min above floor

Connect downpipe run-off into rain-water tank with overflow to stormwater system in accordance with local authorities requirements. Pump to be connected to rainwater tank for the filling of all toilet cisterns. Conceal all upper level services pipes within wall framing.

Tiled decks over liveable areas are to be, in the following order over the floor joists:- 19mm compressed FC sheet, with one layer of parchem emerproof 750 with a second layer of sand screed with a DFT of 1300 micron, installed to manufacturer's specifications, and floor tiles over. All corners to have 20mm mastic sealantunder parchem emerproof 750.

PROFILE Breakthrough education is a fitout to a tenancy at The Glen shopping centre, intended to cater to multiple user types and needs. The primary space is a conference centre designed primarily for use in local citizenship ceremonies, as the local council has no such space of their own available. Adjacent to this are multiple sub-tenancies including a playroom, an ice dessert tenancy, a bubble tea venue and a commercial kitchen. While most of these sub-tenancies are intended to run during normal business hours, the commercial kitchen is designed for use by local communities attending citizenship ceremonies so that they can prepare and serve cuisine from their former homes and share them amongst their fellows. Ultimately, this project required integrating the client’s varied briefs for each space into a single cohesive unit, alongside working within the existing structures and tenancy requirements of The Glen’s management. PROFILE 5 Clarinda Street is a renovation and extension to an existing dwelling in Caulfield South, composed of a reconfiguration of the existing interior spaces as well as the design and implementation of all new joinery, along with a small extension to provide a walk-in robe and ensuite to the master bedroom. Despite the modest size of the proposed extension, care had to be taken in design and material selection to adhere to council’s strict neighbourhood character requirements and obtain a planning permit. The client also requested custom joinery throughout, which required careful attention in detailing all junctions and fixtures to achieve the desired outcome with the selected materials. CRITICAL SKILLS - Documentation and council liaison throughout planning process - Documentation and coordination of project for construction completion - Specification and detail drawings for all fixtures and joinery in preparation for fabrication
