Chapman Capital Advisors has an artisan’s approach to wealth management. Locally owned and operating, Jay Chapman pours his heart and soul into working with clients. Beginning in 1995, Jay started working for a couple of large brokerage firms before becoming an independent Financial Advisor in 2009. In 2017, Jay partnered with Will Thompson and together they have been the driving force behind the success of Chapman Capital Advisors. Along with the experience they bring to the table, their client-centered approach ensures that the old investment adage “know what you own” applies to their client’s knowledge about their investments. “Educating our clients has been a huge key to the success of our clients, “Jay says. Building trust with their clients is another reason for their clients’ success. In the investment world, it’s common to encounter commission-based financial advisors. This isn’t the case at Chapman Financial Advisors. Will says, “We are fee-only advisors, which aligns us with our clients.” For clients, knowing that their advisors are concerned with their individual long-term goals rather than making a hefty commission strengthens the trust they have in their services. Because of this, Jay says, “The relationships we have with our clients become more than a business relationship.” Apart from being a financial advisor, Jay is the proud father of 4-year-old son named Henry and his two yellow Labrador Retrievers (Louie and Chappy). Jay enjoys golfing, fishing, and taking the boat out on most weekends. One charity that he’s regularly involved with is Project Lift – a local organization aimed at helping our youth gain important life skills. Will is also involved in a local charity called Light of the World, a pediatric dentistry charity serving underprivileged children of the Treasure Coast. There, he serves as a board member and Treasurer. Will shares, “Dental health is similar to investing, in that good habits formed early pay off over a lifetime.” Also, a family man, Will is married to the former Darcie Sweet, a Stuart native who attended Martin County Schools throughout her youth. The Thompsons are also the proud parents of two wonderful children, 13-year-old Finn, and 6-year-old Ella. Most nights and weekends you can find the family involved with one of their children’s activities. As established and hard-working members of the community, Jay and Will have proven that they’re dedicated to putting client’s needs first.
