Good Day Sunshine by

Amber Packer

In our part of the world, the sun is starting to warm up the earth. You need a jacket in the morning but not in the afternoon and, best of all, the daffodils are peeking through the earth and will soon be a bright sea of yellow. Before we know it, the showers of April will turn to bright sun-shiny days. To me, the Good Day Sunshine invokes thoughts of laughter, walks on the beach and sitting on the beach where the warmth of the sun can heal your soul. The colors, styles and accessories are perfect for all your spring and summer needs! We would love to see your creations - please share them on our Facebook page.

WOW! What a great sketch Jana designed. We love the banners, the three stacked embellishments (can’t you just see them combined as a snowman?) and how easy it is to add more photos.

Featured Collection: Stella and Rose - Gertie

Using Jana's single page sketch as my starting point, I managed to stretch it into a 2 page layout featuring the Stella and Rose- Gertie Collection to document a fun day trip I had with my family to Vancouver recently. I used a slightly larger banner and added an extra piece so I could use it for part of my title. The banner was cut using a die cut maching. I used my circle and scalloped circle punches to create the circles upon which I adhered the LUSH Chipboard Alphabets that I stamped first using the Doily stamp from Gertie "Girlie Stamp Set and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. On the right side of the layout, I flipped the sketch and made the matte larger so it could hold 2 smaller photos. The border strips were moved out closer to the edges so balance the layout a little better. For visual interest, I used one of the decorative edged papers- "Delightful" Blossom Rose across the page to bridge the 2 sides together.

Supplies:

"You and Me" Layered Stickers "Friends Forever" Layered Chipboard "Delightful" Trims "Delightful" Decorative Brads "Girlie" Stamps "Delightful" Blossom Paper 2 - "Delightful" Sweet Stripe Paper 5" X 7", 6 1/4" X 8 3/4" and punch 6 - 1 3/4" scalloped circles, 6 1/2" X 9" and 5 - 1/4" X 7 1/4" "Girlie" Diamonds Paper 2 - 3 1/4" X 11 1/4" "You and Me" Numbers Paper 6 - 1 1/2" circles "You and Me" Ornamental paper- cut 6 2-1/2"X3" and 6 - 2 3/4" X 3 1/4" triangles to form banner pieces 2- "Friends Forever" Tapestry Paper

"Little One" Darling Dots Paper 5"X9" 2- "Friends Forever" Petals Paper 7 1/4" X 9 3/4", 6" X 8" and two 3"X11" LUSH Printed Chipboard Alphabet Stickers (Red) Also used: Walnut stain distress ink, foam tipped ink applicator, Fiskars circle and scalloped circle punches, acrylic block (for stamp), trimmer, scissors, adhesives and tiny attacher (Stapler) continued on next page

Apply thin double sided adhesive along the top of each banner piece and attach yellow lace and trim the excess. 7. Tie 2 red gingham bows, trim ends and glue one to each end of the banner. 8.
