Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Announces SPAM Cookoff Winners

T

he first annual Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Spam Cookoff is officially in the books. The cookoff was held at the Polk County Fair on Thursday, August 31st. Mark Hobson of the Pulse, Charlotte Wiles of UARM, and Tanner Hooper of Chambers Bank judged the cookoff. There were six entries that ranged from enchiladas to buffalo dip.

The winners of this year’s Spam Cookoff are: 1st Place, Betty Sobeski (Delicious Spamchiladas), 2nd Place Linda Lee Denton (Pie a la Italian) and 3rd Place Debbie Thompson (Spam and Macaroni Salad). The cash prizes for each place will be awarded by Polk County Farm Bureau. A big thank you to all who entered, the judges and all of those who stopped by to watch the event. We look forward to seeing what new entries folks dream up next year.
