Water Safety Advice Highlighted ACCP recommends users visit Fire Service website

Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership (Marr) would like to draw people’s attention to safety around water in the region. Scotland enjoys some of the most beautiful rivers, lochs, canals and reservoirs that the UK has to offer – they attract thousands of visitors each year, and Deeside is no exception. With the continuation of the Year of Coasts and Waters into 2021, it’s important to remember though that if you’re visiting one of these spots, be that regularly or as a one-off, water can pose risks. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has put together some useful advice, aimed at runners, dog-walkers, fishers and drinkers, on their comprehensive website. There is also advice on what to do if you find yourself in the water. Go to www.firescotland.gov.uk/yoursafety/water-safety.aspx Parents, guardians and teachers can also use the information to talk to children about water safety.
