Despite lockdown, Aboyne Paths and Tracks Group has been busy over the winter months, looking aft er our local path network. With fi nancial support from Aberdeenshire council and two landowners, we have completed two fencing projects on Core Paths. Firstly fencing the path between the Men’s Shed and Castle Drive to remove two locked gates and make this route more accessible. Secondly fencing off a stretch of fi eld on the riverside path west of the bridge to take the path away from crumbling riverbank (coincidentally completed two days before a river fl ood took away a further secti on of this bank!)

As summer approaches we are recommencing our monthly volunteer work parti es to help keep the paths maintained. These take place on fi rst Saturday and third Wednesday of every month with Covid safety measures in place. Heavy or lighter work for all levels of ability so please join us! Email us on aboynepaths@ gmail.com or message the Aboyne Paths and Tracks Facebook page to receive joining instructi ons. You can also use these links to report issues with local paths.

Our free leafl et with map and route descripti ons is available in lots of local shops, and also online.
