Get in the Swim
If you have been watching any of the swimming events at the Commonwealth games over the summer then you will have seen some outstanding performances by our Team Scotland swimmers. Their success at being selected to compete at the games is a testament to their talent and dedicati on to the sport. The story of each swimmer will be unique but there will be one common thread - they all started out at their local swimming club - that’s where their journey began.

Upper Deeside Amateur Swimming Club (UDASC) is based at Aboyne pool and has been training competi ti ve swimmers for over 30 years. Our swimmers have performed well in local swim meets and competed at nati onal level. The Club off ers a supporti ve and friendly environment in which young swimmers can develop their swimming potenti al with the guidance of qualifi ed swim coaches.
The Club runs fi ve squads with ages ranging from 8-16. We take swimmers that are able to swim 50m and develop their swimming technique, fi tness and discipline. Slowly introducing competi ti ve swimming skills and off ering the opportunity to enter swim meets in the Shire. The UDASC is part of South Aberdeenshire Swimming, a group of four swimming clubs that work together to introduce swimmers into competi ti on through friendly local league meets.
Club swimming is not just about individual performance, it is about being part of a team, meeti ng new friends and sharing the excitement of competi ti on. At UDASC we work hard but we also ensure all our swimmers are having fun and enjoy their swimming experience.
