Under this enhanced subsidy model: Families with a per capita income (PCI)* of $1,000 and below will enjoy full fee waivers when they enrol in any of SINDA’s programmes. Families whose PCI is above $1,000 will only have to pay a nominal commitment fee of $10 per programme. * Per Capita Income (PCI): Total monthly nett household income divided by the number of household members. PCI is used by SINDA to assess the eligibility of individuals and families for financial assistance and programme fee subsidies.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES FOR ALL STUDENTS TUTORIAL PROGRAMMES
STEP SINDA Tutorials for Enhanced Performance, or STEP, is a holistic after-school programme that provides affordable tuition for primary and secondary students. Through strengthening students’ understanding of concepts and improving their confidence in school, the programme enables them to perform better in their core subjects. STEP classes are conducted in selected schools islandwide and all subjects are taught by qualified and experienced tutors.
STEP Plus
Targeting both parents and students, STEP Plus is an enhancement to the existing STEP programme. Students will be exposed to soft skills and life skills workshops as part of the curriculum, while their parents attend parenting workshops.
TEACH PROGRAMME The Teach programme is a school-based tutorial programme for primary-level students that leverages on the strong partnership between schools, parents and teachers to improve students’ academic performance. School teachers act as SINDA Liaison Officers and identify Indian students who require additional support with their homework assignments. All classes are held after lessons on weekdays or on Saturday mornings, within school premises.

FOR PRE-SCHOOLERS AND LOWER PRIMARY STUDENTS
LITERACY AND NUMERACY (LYNN) The Literacy and Numeracy programme (LYNN) enriches pre-schoolers in reading, writing and numeracy skills which are essential for primary school. Held at decentralised locations around Singapore, LYNN classes are conducted over 20 weeks by trained tutors in a fun and interactive manner. The programme also engages parents to partner their children in the journey of learning, right from the start!
PROJECT READ Project Read is a home-based reading programme that provides children aged between 4 and 8 with a head start in school, by equipping them with basic reading skills and cultivating in them the habit of reading from an early age. The programme enlists the help of trained SINDA volunteers, who make regular home visits to read to children.

FOR UPPER PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
This programme provides intensive exam preparation in Mathematics and Science for students embarking on their national examinations – PSLE, GCE N(A)-Level and GCE O-Level. These coaching sessions offer students tips and strategies to ace their exams.
PROJECT GUIDE Project Guide is a community-based homework support programme for Primary 3 to Secondary 5 students. Through this programme, students receive support for their homework assignments from trained tutors and close their learning gaps. Through collaborations with various community partners, classes are held at decentralised locations islandwide.
FOR POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS
SAADHANA A-LEVEL TUITION Saadhana is a non-profit project run by the National University of Singapore Tamil Language Society (NUSTLS) and supported by SINDA and the Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET). Held between the months of February and October, this highly-subsidised programme focuses on preparing Junior College/ Centralised Institute students and private candidates in core GCE A-Level subjects. Subjects include: General Paper H1 & H2 Mathematics H1 & H2 Economics H2 Chemistry H2 Biology H2 Physics
SINDA’s enrichment programmes improve children’s lives, equip them with the right skill sets and prepare them for the future. Targeted at pre-school and primary-level students, these enrichment programmes supplement students’ academic learning and contribute towards their character development.

Basic Coding for Pre-schoolers
Participants will learn Scratch Jr – a programming language for young children to create interactive stories and games. By snapping together programming blocks, children can animate characters and bring them to life!

Code in the Community
Show & Tell
Children are encouraged to share aspects of their lives, through which they learn how to express themselves and learn fundamental presentation skills that will be useful to them later in life.
Experiential Learning Workshops
Experiential learning workshops introduce Mathematics and Science to primary school students in a fun and engaging manner. By bringing the classroom outdoors, students are able to take in the sights and sounds of nature and at the same time, learn more about Maths concepts, wildlife and the environment.
Speech and Drama Workshops
Workshops focused on speech and drama create the opportunity for children to learn to lead, work as a team, explore different emotions and develop essential social skills, which will aid them in their holistic development. More importantly, these workshops also provide participants with healthy platforms to express themselves and discover their creative potential.
TAMIL PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMME The Tamil Pre-school Programme is an enrichment programme that introduces pre-schoolers aged 5 and 6 years old to the Tamil language. The classes, conducted in Tamil, aim to develop pre-schoolers’ interest in the language and ensure they are sufficiently prepared for Tamil language classes when they begin primary school education. Classes are held at decentralised locations islandwide.
The Code in the Community programme is held in partnership with Google and aims to get children excited about Computer Science (CS)/ Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Participants will learn the basics of computational thinking and computer science concepts through programmes such as Python and Scratch.
Robotics Workshops
Organised for children aged 4 to 12, these robotics sessions will allow participants to build a wide variety of models and use sequential programming to create movement and sound through their models.
Cyber Wellness Programme
Designed for both parents and children, the Cyber Wellness Programme educates participants on the safe use of technology as well as the impact of the Internet on child development, learning and social relationships.

SINDA’s youth programmes inspire our Indian youth towards greater achievements. Specially tailored motivational and mentorship programmes enable them to learn positive values, boost their self-esteem and nurture them to be confident and capable adults.

Organised four times a year during the school holidays for upper primary students, SINDA’s enrichment camps encourage students to holistically develop their teamwork and leadership skills. Our campers are exposed to multiple team-building activities where they build self-confidence, learn responsible decision-making and build upon their strengths.

GUIDANCE AND MENTORSHIP (GAME) THE GUIDANCE AND MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME (GAME) IS A GROUP-BASED MENTORING PROGRAMME THAT NURTURES THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDIAN YOUTH AGED BETWEEN 13 AND 17. BY COMING TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY, THESE YOUTH PARTICIPANTS GAIN OPPORTUNITIES TO EMPOWER THEMSELVES AND DEVELOP THEIR TALENTS. Activities include:
GAME Xtreme Fitness
Build mental and physical strength in a three-week fitness programme, with an added emphasis on self-defence techniques and cardio workouts.
GAME Flash
Enrol in a photography and videography programme with four weekly sessions. Master the technical and theoretical aspects of photography and get hands-on experience with drone photography.
GAME Emcee
Overcome the fear of public speaking and learn how to wow audiences over four weekly sessions, with the guidance of professional presentation coaches.

ITE ASPIRE
With a futsal mentorship component for boys and girls under 18 years old and a Under-25 mens’ team, the SINDA Football Club (SFC) will develop not just their soccer skills, but also their core values of discipline, resilience and commitment.
Held at ITE Colleges over 10 weeks, ITE Aspire is a weekly school-based programme that encourages students’ aspirations through activities including dance and music. The programme also includes motivational and enrichment elements that equip them with life skills, along with introducing values such as resilience and respect, which add to their strengths and keep them motivated throughout their academic journey.

Challenge yourself, push your limits and experience the elements over a three-week programme filled with non-stop outdoor adventures.
GAME Maker
Experience innovation like never before and stimulate your creativity by creating handicrafts such as leather items and terrariums from scratch.
SINDA Youth Hub
The SINDA Youth Hub at Jurong Point serves as a drop-in centre for youth who will be able to use the space to study, as well as socialise through meaningful activities after school. The space will also host workshops for youth and fun activities such as console gaming competitions.
YOUTH VICTORY A 10-week motivational programme conducted in schools, Youth Victory aims to improve secondary school students’ self-esteem and life skills. Through interactive activities that promote character development, students are nurtured into confident and resilient individuals. Additionally, the programme features short modular courses for upper secondary students, where crucial study techniques and exam preparation skills are taught to help them improve in their studies.
HOLIDAY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMMES SINDA organises enrichment activities for youth during the school holidays to engage them and boost their academic performance and personal development. With activities such as indoor air rifle shooting and laser tag, youth will definitely spend their holidays in a fun and engaging way!

An annual 3D2N leadership seminar that brings together youth from diverse academic backgrounds and grooms them into youth leaders who strive to be agents of change in the community.
SINDA Young Leaders Programme (SYLP)
ITE Leadership Programme (ITELP)
A five-month leadership programme that grooms ITE students into effective leaders. Through a leadership camp, multiple soft-skill modules and reflection sessions, youth will gain a better understanding of themselves and execute a community project at the end of the programme.
A platform for youth to engage change-makers on issues in society. Consisting of dialogues and industry visits, participants interact with speakers who will share their perspectives on current affairs and inspire participants to become positive influencers in the community.

STRENGTHENING FAMILIES SINDA believes in nurturing families to aim for a brighter future. Our parenting programmes impart essential skills to parents so that they are well-informed and equipped to raise their families and provide for their children’s various needs.
A seven-month programme that cultivates physical, mental and social well-being among post-secondary youth. Participants are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle habits through innovative sports activities and build an inclusive sporting culture with their family, friends and the community. STRENGTHENING FAMILIES PARENTING WORKSHOPS FAMILY BONDING ACTIVITIES
HELD OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR, PARENTING WORKSHOPS TOUCH ON KEY THEMES TO ENCOURAGE PARENTS TO ESTABLISH STRONGER BONDS WITH THEIR CHILDREN THROUGH POSITIVE PARENTING APPROACHES.
During the school holidays, SINDA organises a series of family activities targeted at strengthening family bonds. Families get to spend quality time together, build greater rapport and understand the need to be positive influences in each other’s lives.

FATHER AND CHILD BONDING ACTIVITIES The father-child relationship is a significant factor in the emotional and cognitive development of a child. This series of workshops, held in February, June and September, utilises experiential learning methods to coach fathers on how to better relate to their children and create lasting bonds.
PROJECT ATHENA Project Athena aims to empower single Indian parents to become confident, independent and resilient individuals through various programmes for the parents and sports activities for the children. Social workers work with parents and their children to overcome challenges in their lives and help them find the inner strength to lead meaningful lives.
HELLO BABY GIFT BUNDLE Aimed at supporting parents with new-borns, the Hello Baby Gift Bundle offers items that provide young ones a head start in active learning through play. The bundle also promotes positive parenting and encourages them to be more involved in their child’s life. Items in the bundle include:

PRIMARY 1 STARTERS SERIES Conducted once every quarter, the Primary 1 Starters Series for parents of pre-schoolers aims to increase parents’ awareness of the resources and tools available to equip their children with the necessary social and emotional skills to cope in a primary school environment. HELPING THE COMMUNITY The SINDA Family Service Centre (SFSC) is a one-stop information and referral centre that provides social work and counselling services to individuals and families facing challenges in their personal, marital and family life. Experienced and professionally trained social work practitioners assess cases, conduct home visits and provide referrals and assistance to clients. SINDA also offers various financial and bursary schemes to ensure that each individual has the right resources to achieve their aspirations.

INFORMATION & REFERRAL Social work practitioners identify and assess the needs of individuals or families and link them to relevant assistance and aid provided by various national schemes. They also work with families on issues that require professional intervention. Individuals and/or families can call, walk-in, write or email their queries about personal or family-related issues.

CASEWORK & COUNSELLING Social work practitioners help individuals and families work on their personal, social and emotional difficulties so that they are equipped with the knowledge to better cope with challenges in life. Our practitioners provide help in various areas including parenting, marital, financial, family violence and interpersonal issues.
LEGAL CLINIC The Legal Clinic offers free legal services to needy Indian families. The service is held on a monthly basis and is strictly by appointment. Lawyers from accredited law firms offer their services on a pro bono basis by advising clients about the relevant legal procedures and legal terms.

Pre-school Bursary
The Pre-school Bursary helps Indian children from low-income families with costs related to the children’s pre-school education. Children must be aged 7 or below and must be receiving additional subsidy from the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) before applying for this bursary.
SINDA Bursary
SINDA provides bursaries to deserving full-time students from primary and secondary levels enrolled in government and independent schools/institutions. Applicants who are not under the School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF) or other financial schemes may apply for this bursary.
Post-secondary Bursary
SINDA, together with the Singapore Indian Education Trust (SIET), provides bursaries to eligible students pursuing full-time studies in government and independent tertiary institutions. Applicants are required to attend a panel interview.
Study Awards
SINDA offers a wide range of study awards in collaboration with established private tertiary institutions and donors to encourage individuals to pursue higher studies and deepen their skills in relevant industries. The eligibility criteria will differ for each study award.

Book & Shelf
Through this scheme, pre-school and primary school students will be provided with bookshelves and reading materials so that they will have a conducive study environment at home to experience the joy of reading.
Equal Opportunities Fund
This fund provides children and youth aged 3 to 25 with resources to attend enrichment classes that they may not otherwise be able to attend. Through this initiative it is hoped that every child, regardless of their financial background, will benefit from programmes that will bolster their holistic growth.
Before and After School Care Subsidy
The Before and After School Care Subsidy (BASC) is available to low-income families with children aged 7 to 14 who are enrolled in non-profit BASC centres. It augments the subsidies provided by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and Student Care Centres.
Celebrate! Festive Gift Vouchers
SINDA spreads festive cheer to low-income families by gifting them vouchers during their respective festive holidays – Hari Raya, Deepavali and Christmas.
Transport Vouchers
SINDA will provide financial assistance to the elderly and/or persons with disabilities and special needs to ease the burden of transport costs and make it more accessible for them to attend medical appointments.
Career Referral Initiative
SCHEMES OFFERED BY SINDA IN CONJUNCTION WITH PARTNER AGENCIES The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund
The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) is a community project initiated by The Straits Times which provides pocket money to children from low-income families to help them with school-related expenses such as meals and bus fares.
Through close ties with career-related agencies such as e2i and Workforce Singapore, SINDA provides assistance to those seeking employment or those looking to develop their professional skills and abilities further.
Comcare Assistance Scheme
Comcare is a financial assistance scheme supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and disbursed specifically under urgent circumstances. The SINDA FSC is able to tap on this scheme to provide financial aid to beneficiaries in need of urgent assistance.
Singapore Press Holdings Foundation Sponsorship
The Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Foundation Sponsorship provides students with The Straits Times and Tamil Murasu newspapers to ensure that they are updated on current affairs.

NEU PC Plus Programme
This scheme provides Indian students and their families with a personal computer at highly subsidised rates, bundled with affordable internet connection.
Home Access
The Home Access programme is aimed at making internet connectivity more accessible and affordable to low-income households which do not have school-going children. Eligible households will be provided with a computing device and/or fibre broadband service at a subsidised rate.

The SINDA Bus, a mobile satellite centre, extends SINDA’s reach and engages the Indian community in the heartlands. The Bus brings our programmes and services to the residents directly to serve them better.

Schools and Indian community organisations, whose interests are aligned to SINDA’s vision and mission, are also provided with funding to carry out activities for the betterment of the community.

VOLUNTEER WITH US! SINDA provides unique and satisfying volunteering opportunities for those who would like to spend their time in a meaningful way. Volunteers are crucial to many SINDA programmes and allow for individuals to make a personal impact on the lives of others. Volunteers may specify the areas that they wish to contribute towards and they will be provided with adequate training before they begin.
Project Give
An annual fundraising campaign that offers individuals the opportunity to learn more about SINDA’s initiatives for the community and contribute towards the needs of Indian students.

A biennial event for SINDA partners and volunteers, in recognition of their selfless efforts to uplift the community.
