INTRODUCTION.

A new generation of heating solutions. The way that we heat our homes is changing. In recent years, our needs have altered and our thinking has been liberated! We are no longer constrained by the rules of the past. Heating is not just about indoor comfort. Rising energy costs and change to our environment are new concerns. Efficiency has become a big consideration, as has appearance. There is a growing recognition and appreciation that radiators and other heating appliances form an important part of the interior decoration of our homes. Style is now high on our list of desired attributes. At MYSON we believe that innovation is the key to satisfying these changing needs. MYSON is one of the oldest and most respected names in the British heating industry with a heritage stretching back to the early days of central heating. CHOOSING YOUR PRODUCT.

More Choice. Fewer Steps. To ensure that you obtain your optimum heating solution, simply follow the six steps below: 1. Method of heating Start by choosing your preferred method of heating. Choose from decorative radiators, electric heating, fan convectors and towel warmers to be used individually or as a combination. 2. Heat outputs The amount of heat output required in a room to provide the warmth you need, is primarily dictated by the size of the room in question. Just as this size varies from room to room, so will the level of heat output required. The simplest way to identify the heat output needed for an individual room is to calculate the volume of the room in cubic metres (m3) and then multiply this number by 50 to find the Watts requirement. MYSON recommend that you always confirm your heating requirements with your heating engineer/installer (see Example).

Example: The volume of a room 2.4m high, 2m wide and 4m long would be 2.4 x 2 x 4 = 19.2 m3. The recommended heat output required for this room would therefore be 19.2 x 50 = 960 Watts.

3. System requirements Direct systems use your domestic hot water supply to heat radiators and towel rails, whereas indirect systems operate independently. Products made from brass are suitable for any hot water central heating system but products made from steel should only be fitted to indirect systems. 4. Select the right model Once you have decided on your method of heating and established the hot water central heating system you wish to run the product on, select the correct model to satisfy your needs from our product selector (opposite). 5. Controls & accessories MYSON offer a broad range of controls and accessories to complement your chosen product. Whether you desire a contemporary or traditional style, MYSON have the options that will give you what you want. 6. Ordering & delivering Simply place your order at your preferred merchant or distributor, quoting the MYSON product code. Our stocked products will be delivered within 3-5 working days and our non-stocked products such as colours, will be delivered within 6 - 8 weeks.

Where traditional radiators take up precious wall space and restrict design possibilities, the KICKSPACE® heater allows freedom to tailor your home around your lifestyle. Central heating, electric and duo models available. The kitchen is often where space is most at a premium and the KICKSPACE® can deliver the most benefits but equally, the bathroom or hallway can be alternative applications. All versions are designed to be installed horizontally into recessed locations. They require an adequate supply of inlet air and the axis of the motor must remain horizontal. The KICKSPACE® can also be used alongside the MYSON INNOKO towel rail to provide the perfect drying and heating solution for any kitchen (please see page 83). With effective climate control KICKSPACE速 works by drawing room air over the heated fins of the unit heat exchanger and projecting warm air back into the room. Controls are situated on the front grille, with the unit having a choice of heating fan speeds (winter setting) as well as a fan-only (summer setting) operation. Alternatively, a remote control wall switch can be fitted to central heating and duo models for extra control and convenience.

Living Rooms KICKSPACE ®

The unit grille and remote wall switch can be customised to suit any room décor with a variety of metallic and colour finish options. The remote room thermostat is supplied white as standard and is suitable for the 500, 600 & 800 unit models.

IMPORTANT TECHNICAL INFORMATION.

Certifications. MYSON towel warmers and design radiators are manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 442, which certifies independent approval of heat outputs, unless otherwise stated. Products highlighted â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;No Performance Declaredâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; (NPD) have heat outputs below the measureable limits of EN 442 test methods and calculated outputs are therefore shown. Convectors are tested to BS 4856 Part 1 for heating and Part 2 for cooling, and are manufactured to quality system BS EN ISO 9001. All manufacturing sites are approved to the environmental standard BS EN ISO 14001. CE Marking CE marking is a mandatory requirement on products sold in the European Economic Area (EEA) where EU Directives and legislation are applicable. All MYSON products have been assessed against requirements and where applicable carry the CE mark.

Pressure Testing. Products in our design collection, excluding stainless steel products and multi-rails, are pressure tested to 6.9 bar (maximum operating pressure 5.3 bar). Stainless steel products are pressure tested to 12 bar (maximum operating pressure 9.2 bar). Multi-rails are pressure tested to 9.6 bar (maximum operating pressure 7.4 bar).

Packaging. All MYSON products are packed in robust cardboard packaging specially designed to ensure that the product reaches you in perfect condition.

Warranties. All MYSON hydronic towel warmers and design radiators have a

10 year

warranty. All MYSON sealed electric towel warmers, electric radiators, fan convector elements, valves, accessories and thermostats carry a

2 year

warranty. With electric underfloor - the electric mat has a 10 year warranty and the thermostat has a 2 year warranty.

Inhibitors. All products installed onto indirect hydronic systems must be cleaned and protected (includes the use of an inhibitor) in accordance with the Domestic Building Services Compliance Guide and to the British Standard Code of Practice for Water Treatment. Failure to meet the regulations under BS7593 compliance will invalidate the product warranty.

Dezincification. In certain areas, the local water can gradually remove zinc from brass alloys. This process is called dezincification and, on rare occasions and over time, can affect the integrity of a brass product. All MYSON brass products are manufactured using dezincification resistant brass. This, however, does not entirely eliminate the possibility of dezincification occurring. These products can be used on any hot water central heating system and are identified within the brochure using the

symbol. Please note,

however, this does not affect the stainless steel FOWEY on page 22. MYSON insist that you ask your heating engineer/installer if this problem applies to your area, as MYSON can not be held responsible for any resulting damage.

Colour Options. The standard colour for MYSON radiators is white RAL 9016. This finish will provide a long lasting, high quality appearance in your home. Some of our products also come as standard in a metallic finish. However, our range of hydronic DĂ&#x2030;COR and COLUMN radiators are available in any colour or metallic RAL finish giving you the ability to personalise and complement your room design. Simply specify your preference when ordering!

IMPORTANT TECHNICAL INFORMATION.

Electrical Installation. All electrical models must be hard wired and installed in the correct orientation by a qualified electrician, in accordance with the IEE wiring regulations BS 7671.

Dual Fuel. This allows a hydronic product to be used if the central heating system is not active. The pipe centres featured in this brochure are based on hydronic products. When adding heater kits to multi-rails, a T-piece and element will be required that alters the pipe centre dimensions (see diagram). The difference in pipe centres featured are based on using MYSON valves. These differences 70mm

may vary on other manufacturersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; valves. For the most efficient operation, one valve should be open and one valve should be closed. Avoid closing both valves.

IP Ratings. IP ratings are shown for all electrical products. This must be considered when installing in a location containing a bath or shower, as defined by BS 7671.

Auto Power Management System (APM速). APM速 represents the most advanced element technology available. It is an economical, self-regulating element. When it reaches the required temperature, it reduces power consumption accordingly. There is no need for a thermostat. The required temperature is achieved smoothly and stays constant. APM速 is now fitted to all PTC heating elements and most MYSON electric units where stated.

Fixings. For the correct installation of radiators it is essential that the fixing of the radiator is carried out in such a way that it is suitable for intended use AND predictable misuse. A number of elements need to be taken into consideration including the fixing method used to secure the radiator to the wall, the type and condition of the wall itself, and any additional potential forces or weights, prior to finalising installation. IN ALL CASES IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT A SUITABLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER OR SIMILAR TRADESPERSON CARRIES OUT THE INSTALLATION. PLEASE NOTE: The fixing materials provided are only intended for installation on walls made of solid wood, bricks, concrete or on timber-frame stud walls where the fixing is into the timber. All walls being considered should have no more than a maximum of 3mm wall finishing. For walls made of other materials, for example hollow bricks, please consult your installer and/or specialist supplier. ONCE AGAIN, IF YOU ARE UNSURE, IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT A SUITABLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL INSTALLER OR SIMILAR TRADESPERSON CARRIES OUT THE INSTALLATION.
