Born in the northern Rocky Mountains of Montana, MYSTERY RANCH has designed and built bombproof backpacks for over 40 years. Fueled by our own outdoor obsessions, we’ve dedicated decades to fine-tuning and evolving our craft.

Since 1989, Big City Mountaineers has provided more than 45,000 nights under the stars for youth who might not have otherwise had the opportunity.

Across the US, BCM harnesses the transformative power of nature to cultivate a generation with compassion for themselves and their communities – and the skills and confidence to go make a difference.

The MYSTERY RANCH crew recycled extra fabric from the production floor and made stacks of flags to send off for use in BCM’s upcoming Summit for Someone Program, an adventure fundraising program designed to support the youth programs that BCM puts on.

These flags will be used in two capacities during each trip of the program:

+ One flag for the trip itself that all participants sign and use as a “social contract” for the trip, to be hung at the BCM offices after completion. A flag for every participant as a memento for their trip. It’s tradition for every participant to sign one another’s flags, including something that they want to remember from their experience. When they return home, these flags remind them that the sky is the limit in everything they want to do and accomplish.

MYSTERY RANCH designs and manufactures packs for the job that needs to get done, supporting customers who rely on our packs to get home at the end of the day. Our Warranty guarantees everything we build against defects in materials and craftsmanship for the practical lifetime of the product. We will happily offer repair or replacement for issues with materials or craftsmanship. Case-specifically, damage due to normal wear and tear or misuse can be repaired for a reasonable charge.

WHAT WE REPAIR

1. ZIPPER DAMAGE

Our techs are zipper wizards and can functionally repair or replace most zippers.

2. HOT PATCH REPAIR

We use laser-cut laminate hot patches with a special adhesive and a custom press for lasting, functional repairs.

3. PACK SHRINKING

Just kidding! Our packs won’t shrink. Please do not put your pack in a washing machine or dryer.

4. BUCKLE/HARDWARE ISSUES

If something is broken or missing on your pack, we are here to help.

5. ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS

All animals like snacks, but most animals can’t work zippers. This is some of the most common damage we see!

6. OLD PACKS

Our gear is built to endure, and our goal is to keep it functional and out of the landfill for as long as possible.
