A GROUP OF KITEBOARDERS AND WINDSURFERS WHO LOVED EVERYTHING IN THE EXTREME WANTED TO GO AFTER STRONG WINDS AND BIGGER WAVES IN HARSHER CONDITIONS. PASSIONATE AS THEY WERE ABOUT KITEBOARDING AND WINDSURFING THEY FELT THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE EXISTING EQUIPMENT ON THE MARKET WAS HOLDING THEM BACK, SO THEY DECIDED TO BREAK OUT ON THEIR OWN AND FILL THE GAP. THEY SET OUT TO CREATE KITESURFING AND WINDSURFING EQUIPMENT THAT WAS DURABLE AND ABLE TO SUPPORT A RIDER IN EXTREME CONDITIONS ALLOWING THEM TO GO HARDER, FASTER, HIGHER. THIS WAS 2002, AND THE BEGINNING OF THE MYSTIC JOURNEY. MYSTIC AIMS TO CREATE A RANGE OF EQUIPMENT THAT EMBRACES MODERN TECHNOLOGIES AND TECHNIQUES, WHICH IN COMBINATION WITH THE RIDERS’ NATURAL PHYSICAL SKILLS WOULD ALLOW THEM TO REACH AND EVEN SURPASS THEIR MAXIMUM POTENTIAL. MYSTIC WANTS TO CREATE PRODUCTS THAT PUSH RIDERS FURTHER, ALLOWING THEM TO BREAK ALL THE EXISTING BOUNDARIES AND TAKE THE SPORT TO A TOTALLY NEW LEVEL. MYSTIC HAS BECOME AN INNOVATIVE TRAILBLAZER IN THE KITESURFING, WINDSURFING AND WAKEBOARDING WORLDS. BY COMBINING DURABILITY, QUALITY, INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY MYSTIC HAS SEALED ITS REPUTATION AS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH ON AN INTERNATIONAL SCALE.
MYSTIC MYSTIC NEXT To be able to do what we love we need gear. At Mystic we are well aware of the fact that producing gear impacts our planet. The Mystic Next project focuses on using eco-friendly shipping materials, reducing plastic outputs in packaging, biodegradable wetsuit bags and incorporating organic cotton into our production line. We strive towards a more sustainable world in which we can live in harmony with the environment, while still being able to do what we love. It’s a small step, but definitely directed towards a future that’s more sustainable.
R E C Y C L A B L E PA C K A G I N G By creating a more generic packaging we reduce the amount of waste of leftover packaging. Another way of reducing packaging is by minimizing the number of hangtags on our products. We strive to use paper and cardboard in our packaging as much as possible, but sometimes we still have to use plastics. We’ve made sure most of these are recycled.
SUSTA INA BLE M ATER I A L S We improve our products sustainably by replacing materials with recycled goods, or by incorporating new materials with a lower impact on the environment. We’re already using organic cotton in our apparel line and switched to recycled polyester for our boardshorts. Each year we expand the number of products with more sustainable materials.
YA M A MOTO 39 LIMESTONE We’ve added Yamamote neoprene to our High Range wetsuits. Yamamoto neoprene is a limestone rubber with amazing flexibility and great thermal properties, but without all of the impactful stuff that you get with conventional wetsuits.
G OODSHIPPING We love working together with the GoodShipping Program. The GoodShipping Program is the first sustainable shipping initiative in the world. It helps making container shipments less polluting.
