ORIGIN: VQA Ontario STYLE: Fruit-forward and aromatic ALCOHOL: 40%
Flavour profile: A clear and pure spirit with aromas of tropical fruit, star anise, apricot, almond and a touch of banana rise from the glass. At first swirl, look for elegant tear drops forming along the side of the glass. The mouth-feel is round and full in texture, with notes of floral, pine resin and nut. The finish is long, lingering and warm with a hint of sweetness, and flavours of earth, tree fruit and pine. Best served: Enjoy neat or on the rocks, mix with soda water and a twist of orange, or as a replacement for vodka in Martinis and other cocktails.
Add some ice to your Lewis bag and seal. Crush the ice with the mallet and add it to a tall glass. Add in the ginger syrup and Muscat Spirit. Stir until chilled and top with No Boats on Sunday cider. Add 5 shakes of Wayne Gretzky Estates Antique Ginger Bitters to the top of the cocktail and garnish with a squeeze of lime. No Boats on Sunday pays homage to a time when Halifax was Canada’s business gateway port and the locals decided to restrict boat traffic on Sundays – encouraging people to spend the day doing the things they loved most. No Boats meant no work! We took this brilliant policy and bottled it for you to enjoy!
Winemaker’s notes: Our winemaker, Craig McDonald, working closely with some of our long-standing growers for Wayne Gretzky Winery, selected the finest Muscat grapes harvested from Niagara Peninsula vineyards during the fall of 2017. The juice underwent a slow cool fermentation to enhance and retain varietal expression, then it was presented to our distiller, to distill the dry Muscat wine. The fresh and fruity Muscat wine was then double distilled in a copper pot still to bring forth a very clean, aromatic spirit with 89% ABV. The spirit was then aged for 2 months in a stainless-steel tank to soften the mouth-feel and enhance aromatics. Pure, naturally limestone filtered, UNESCO-protected Niagara Escarpment water was added to achieve 40% ABV and the perfect balance of aromatics and flavours. The spirit was then bottled, ready to be enjoyed.

Cider Maker’s notes: The apples are sourced from Ontario orchards, with most apples being McIntosh. Natural hops have been added to enhance the flavour profile. Flavour profile: Fresh clean ripe apple notes rise from the crackling cider. Delicate bubbles dance on the off-dry palate and flavours of fresh juicy apple and a touch of hops fill the mouth. Tangy fresh apple flavours brighten the finish. Best served: Serve chilled at 8 to 10°C. Enjoy within one year of purchase. Pair with pork and ham dishes; turkey burgers; chicken fingers; spicy shrimp skewers and salty appetizers.
