Best Electric Razors – Better Shaves On November 6, 1928, Colonel Jacob Schick patented the world’s first electric dry shaver with oscillating blades. This breakthrough opened the doors for developing more revolutionized and quality electric razors. There were several advantages to using an electric razor. One does not require the water or shaving foam to do away with unwanted hair and the chances of cuts during shaving were minimized due built-in safety covers. The only requirement needed for using these shavers is either AC electricity or batteries. While the early models did not provide the close shaves enjoyed by the conventional razors science has improved performance so much that many are breaking age old conceptions and replacing the disposable with the electric razor. In fact though classic shaving devices are still used by many people, men’s and women’s electric shavers are becoming very popular in this new era, where men and women don’t have as much time to dedicate to their looks. Electric shavers are categorized into two types, foil and rotary. A foil electric razor has several floating heads built to glide over facial contours, with razor cutters that oscillate behind a perforated screen. Rotary Electric Shavers on the other hand, have three or four floating heads engineered to glide over facial contours, with razor cutters that spin behind a very fine grid. There are several things to consider when buying and electric razor like the battery life, the grip

quality, weight, size and how easy it is to clean after use. The shaver you buy must give you a fast, close, hygienic shaving experience. Foil is just an odd word for stays in one place, where rotary has a moving head and moves with the curves on your face. The fact that the head never moved on old models enplanes why people got average shaves. Going around the curves on your face, created problems getting a perfect shave. Now with the rotary heads you will have a problem at all. Early versions of electric razors were meant to be used on dry skin only. Many recent electric razors have been designed to allow for wet/dry use, which also allows them to be cleaned using running water or an included cleaning machine, reducing cleaning effort. Competition has driven prices down as well and you don’t have to buy shaving cream or expensive disposable blades. When it comes to electric shavers for men, the four big brands out there (Braun, Panasonic, Philips and Remington) have a wide range of products available and to make matters worse, a lot of them look identical. Cut throat competition between the various companies has lead to the introduction of various innovations in the field. For example Royal Philips Electronics Company based in the Netherlands integrates technologies and design into its electric shavers and male grooming products always striving to improve quality of life through on-going innovations based on consumer feedback. Recent developments have been new cleaning, recharging and safety systems. Since razors come in different styles, designs and types you have to know what to look for. An online search makes a lot of sense than an impulse purchase. Shopping online is the in thing right now. You no longer have to endure going from shop to shop, when you can do shopping in a couple of hours in the comfort of your own home.
