Her homemade banana bread was always so moist and tasty and we loved to spread it with thick dollops of butter and eat it with our tea while we were doing our homework. Here is “Moms” recipe: Ingredients: 3 overripe bananas, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup granulated sugar 2 cups all purpose flour, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 teaspoon salt, 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon ground. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease 9×5 inch bread loaf pan. . Take a large bowl and mix the flour, baking soda and salt. Sift together: 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt. Stir only until well combined. Spread the mixture in a well greased loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour at 350 degrees. The banana bread will be golden brown. Let cool for about 10 minutes and then tip the loaf pan over to remove from the pan. Cut the banana bread into slices when it has cooled completely.
