Get Motivated, Get Started
David Vallieres mentions a great line in the movie “the Untouchables” in one of his online coaching programs. This is when Jim Malone (played by Sean Connery), after being shot a dozen times, could barely speak and looks up into Elliot Ness’s eyes (played by Kevin Costner) and asks with dogged determination and his last breath, ‘What are you prepared to do?” I can still remember the line because it was such a strong, moving performance. The attitude, that “wont take no for an answer” is totally necessary to become successful. The question ‘What are you prepared to do?’ has to be answered and only YOU can answer it. It’s going to take some work. “The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary” Vidal Sassoon. “You better live your life every day like it’s your last because one day you’re going to be right” Ray Charles. Take a look at four ways to get motivated to get started. 1. Remind yourself that you are much better than you imagine. Success does not require super-intellect nor is it based on luck however belief in success is the one basic ingredient absolutely essential in successful people. Belief in amazing outcomes has been the motivatung force, the energy behind just about every prosperous business enterprise. With out it man could not have gone into space. Wonderful engineering feats such as the channel tunnel as well as the Golden Gate could have been impossible. Folks who earn a lot of money are no different than you; they only ‘see’ things differently. Never sell yourself short. 2. When some of your core values come into question before you decide to become heated ask yourself ‘what role has tradition played in developing my belief system?Your beliefs may be a sumbling block to getting motivated and getting started. ”J.Krishamurti said this “We are so conditioned, so heavily burdened with belief, with tradition, with the past, that this actually prevents us from seeing or listening.” 3. When an unexpected situation occurs, and you freeze, believing that only the worst ‘may’ happen, consider your strengths and move ahead to overcome the situation. When negative thoughts enter your mind, recognize them for what they are and eliminate them. Remember that ninety percent of the awful things that we foresee do not ever transpire.

4. Think “yes I can”; never say I can’t do this”. Let the thought I am going to succeed’ control your thinking process. Don’t be a slave to every thought that leaps into your head. If you want to achieve something, just start doing it Thinking success conditions your mind to develop plans that can succeed. Believe big. The size of your success is determined by the size of your belief. Aim high! Keep in mind courage is not the absence of fear it is doing the right thing regardless of your fear. “Aerodynamics has proven that the bumblebee cannot fly, the body is too heavy and the wings are too weak. But the bumblebee doesn’t know that, and it goes right on flying, miraculously.” Mary Kay. In case you meet with a fact or concept, and you might have an existing belief which is different from what you believe attempt to keep an open mind! Not to say that anything that you may have heard is gospel ‘truth’…of course, it is the truth as someone else sees it…but do not dismiss it for the reason that it conflicts with your beliefs. Here is something that you simply can take to the bank: The only distinction between you and super productive folks is your beliefs about what exactly is and what exactly is not doable.
