Once all the birds were black. Even Little Dove. One day, she was looking for food. THEN she saw a tasty looking blue worm. She swooped down and...cut her foot on a sharp stick! It started to bleed. Parrot was EGER to help so she ran up to little Doves foot and…POP! IT BURST! Colors like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, lavender and pink sprayed this way and that! Some got spots, some got strips. But poor Crow did not get anything because he wasn’t standing near by. Little Dove’s foot soon became better. She thanked Parrot and flew back to her nest. That is how the birds got their colors.
