Published continuously since 1896, the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (JOPERD) is a four-color, professional journal issued nine times a year and available in full text online. With a paid circulation of 12,000, including 1,400 institutions, JOPERD is an authoritative source for educators in physical education, sport, recreation, and dance in all settings. Rates are commissionable (15%) to recognized agencies. Additional charges are non-commissionable. When establishing a contract, the frequency is determined by the number of insertions made within 12 months of the first insertion.
Closing Dates
Deadlines vary by publication, however should any of these dates fall on a weekend, the deadline is extended to Monday. Late and rush orders are accepted whenever space and time permit.
Conditions
All advertising is subject to approval by publisher. All advertising submitted to the publisher is subject to the tenets specified. The publisher will not accept responsibility for the content of ads, including errors. The publisher reserves the right to place the word “advertisement” with copy that, in the publisher’s opinion, resembles editorial matter. AAHPERD strictly prohibits false, deceptive, misleading and unfair methods of competitive advertising. Any advertising that casts a negative light on its competitors is not acceptable; therefore AAHPERD has the right to reject any advertising content that does so. AAHPERD and its associations do not verify or substantiate the claims of advertisers. As a matter of law, it is the responsibility of an advertiser, not the publisher, to substantiate its claims.

Frequency Rates
Frequency rate is determined by the number of insertions made within 12 months from the date of first insertion on contract. If more or fewer insertions are made within one year, billing will be adjusted accordingly.
Commissions and Billing
Commissions will be given to recognized agencies: 15% of the gross rate. Electronic newsletters and journals are non-commissionable. No cash discounts given. All accounts not paid in full within 60 days of date of invoice will be considered past due and shall incur a late charge of 3% per month from the due date until paid in full. Advertisers and/ or its agency shall be liable jointly and severely for monies due publisher for advertising which is published pursuant to order of advertiser and/or its agency.

Cancellation of space reservation must reach the AAHPERD Advertising Manager before the artwork deadline, at which time a credit will be issued. Credit must be used within one year of issue. Cancellations received after the artwork deadline will result in the full cost of insertion.

Terms of Contract
The authorizing party agrees to the advertising placements indicated on this contract, and fully understands that this authorization requires payment within 30 days of the invoice date. A 3% monthly service charge will accrue on accounts past due for over 60 days. Publisher must approve all advertising content submitted by Advertisers. AAHPERD strictly prohibits false, deceptive, misleading and unfair methods of competitive advertising. Any advertising that casts a negative light on its competitors is not acceptable; therefore AAHPERD has the right to reject any advertising content that does so. Advertisers agree that all material necessary for the placement must arrive at AAHPERD no later than the published closing dates. Advertiser agrees that in the event that such materials are not sent in time, AAHPERD will not have any responsibility to Advertiser for failure to publish the proposed ad and hereby agrees that AAHPERD is authorized to publish the last prepared ad of Advertiser, if any, and that Advertiser will pay said amount for the ad. The advertiser will receive one copy of the periodical; additional copies are available per advanced agreement.
