Her family and friends knew Nisha as someone with incredible strength who inspired others. The beautiful warrior fought a courageous battle against undifferentiated osteosarcoma, a rare cancer that develops in the soft tissues or bones. It is an aggressive cancer that impacts just one percent of the American population. Because the tumor is so rare, the American Cancer Society refers to it as the "Forgotten Cancer." The five-year survival rate for soft tissue sarcoma is around 65 percent, and 70 percent for bone cancer. When the tumor spreads to other parts of the body, the survival rate falls to 16 percent, meaning only 16 percent of people will remain alive five years after the diagnosis.
