The part of my proposal is to create a central space, where they can gain economical advantage, in which it will directly help in many problem the communities have. The part of my proposal is to create a space where their main source of income comes from converting the waste system in the commuites into reusable energy and selling it of energy company.

This indirectly cleans their communities while also gaining additional space. Besides that a newer community area and few spaces for cafes and restaurants are built specifically to run by the Bajau people as additional income.
BOAT PARK
The main building is placed along the main bridge connecting the land area and the Bajau communities living above the sea along the coast. Its located in strategic place, where it can be meeting place between tourists and the Bajau people. The building uses mezzanine floor to fits in additional spaces, thus the overall building doesn’t fully overwhelm the surrounding site. Each spaces are then connected with an OKU friendly ramp that goes from ground floor till the top floor.

The spaces on the left show where all the storage space are located. This storage spaces equalls income value as they can later be selled to gain profit. This also reduces the waste and trashs that accumulated on site.
As the community have higher income, they have more spare time for themselves. Creating more closed pack communites.
The spaces on the right show the reaction from gaining all the profit. The Bajau can now self-sustain that they could leave activites that would harm the ocean enviroment.

The site was EL DORADO OF THE EAST - means The Golden One or The Lost City of Gold; A title given to the small town of Sungai Lembing, Pahang for its significant economical contribution when it became the epicentre for tin mining in the 1900s under a British company - Pahang Consolidated Company Limited (PCCL) who had a 120- year lease to mine the area. After facing an economic downturn due to the crash of global tin prices in the 1980s - which forces PCCL to cease operations in 1986 has transformed Sungai Lembing into an abandoned ghost town.
INAL COLLAGE
The first part of the proposal is to create an artwork, which related to the idea and concept of later proposal in the project. The artwork i created comes from the idea from Bernard Tschumi’s Manhattan Transcript. Where actions are translated into idea of space through owns interpretation of the action.
Sungai Lembing evolved around tin mines and the activites done corresponding to it. The main part of the tine story are the tin miners, of how the tin minerals are excavated on site and also the atmosphere within the tunnel mine that the miners experience. The second important part of Sungai Lembing tin mine are the locomotive. The main transportation system to transport the minerals and also as transportation system for public users. The final piece of the Sungai Lembing mine are the factory, where all the minerals excavated are processed and transported away the Sungai Lembing.

The near side represents the Mining factory.
It is brought to a shelter stop where it is then minerals are kept before moving it into the factory.
While the circular shaped shows the movement of human during the construction of the train track.
The collecters on side of the shelter represents the minerals that has pass through the shelter. The stepped shape shows the various stages in the mine factory to produce the tin mineral.
The shows the construction of the trian track. This image shows the early beginnings of tin mineral production. The left image shows the hectic work that is happening in Sg. Lembing during the PCCL era. The center block shows the journey of tunnel train to transport the tin mines excavated in the tunnel. The train connects directly to the shaft. The right image shows the joints and movement of miners excating the tin minerals. The wall represents the tunnel wall thats is excated upon.
Movement of people represented in the column form. While the movement are shown as the block that goes in between those columns. While the brown blocks shows the surrounding context, while showing it harh enviroemts.
This image show the process thats happens on mining factory. The top image shows the grinder and the conveyor belt, the images shows as rotating door with wall going along the few grinders. The bottom image shows “Mendulang” . The center block rotatable to represent the circular motion of “Mendulang” process.

Seputeh house is a bungalow house located in Kuala Lumpur. It’s a renovation project where all of the existing building on site will be demolished and a new proposed design will be built. The stage was already in submission stage and tender stage. But the project had a slow start because of the pandemic. I was tasked to complete the tender drawings where it consists of plans, elevations, sections, staircase detail, roof details, reflected ceiling plan, electric layout plan, floor finishes, toilet schedule, door and window schedule. As it was a big project, there were many details that need to be shown. 50 50 50 50 50 50

03 MISCELLANEOUS Kolektif Baru Kolektif Baru is a design that mixes the current terrace house planning with Malaysia vernacular house, with newer added sustainability. Kolektif Baru utilizes the usage of previously not explored spaces. This create varies degree of space funtionality. Kolektif Baru tackle community engagement in every place possible while also enhancing the spaces within the houses for the better. Introduction of bigger masterplan where it resembles a “kampong” style where each houses are exposed to vegetation in every opening. A direct copy of vernacular house is the iconic “verandah” which was copied and paste into the proposal

Monotony design is a common issues with Malaysia terraces. Similar repetition are cheaper but it does not create a homely feeling but to more industrial feel.
Terrace house sizes makes the overall space parking limited. And with Malaysia culture of having more than 2 car per house. It causes congestion on the road and disturbing road flow.
Malaysia terrace arrangement are always facing each other, with just small breakage of greeneries.
Middle-lane
single
Terrace back-lane has been notorious to be known as ugly unused space. It was earlier functioned as fire safety and also for garbage collecting point. But now, its a wasted space.
Terrace middle-lane only usage is as fire breaker and access. The sizes of a common middle lanes can be used to accommodate a unit, while still acknowledging fire safety.
Malaysia terrace function is only residential and only that. With less space for different activies at the same time..

The newly proposed roof top able to collect more rainwater, that later can be transported to rainwater tank, and be used for non consumption usage. Such as wc water. This roof top can be used as temporary storage is needed, with the lap pool can be converted as storage space.
Solar system drastically reduces electrical usage in terrace house. With introduction of greeneries, where it cools down the houses further reduces energy consumption of a terrace house.

With the whole plan have been lifted up, the ground floor now acts as verandah, where its can act as communal area. While the roof space can also be utilized for different types of spaces
current terrace
Current terrace design dose not utilize space efficiently especially the roof. By introducing roof top spaces, it creates different space typology for the user to explore.
Method 1
Jogging track that start from their own terrace house to encourage healthy lifestyle. With 2 proposed track, user can choose their preferred jogging path.

Roof, walls, window and doors are constructed and fixed in factory. This reduces site workers and environmental waste.
Method 3
Constructed components are transferred to site by vehicles. Using pre-fab also reduces construction time.
Method 4
Final step is just attach all together. With less site distraction, quick and efficient construction and be done.
Home Concept 2030 is a competition by PAM and Sime Darby. The competition concept is to create a future home where it can accommodate together with the current post pandemic stat while also maintaining the culture of terrace houses. Along the process of this competition, we had various meeting, discussion and sketches on selecting our best design. For this project I was involved from the first stage,The process of this competition is more hard than I actually anticipated as there are many amends and there is always constant changes until we find the middle ground.
