What is chlorine dioxide? CLO2 has been used effectively in a variety of applications including odour, mould, drinking water, wastewater, biomedical waste, medical and pharmaceutical equipment, food processing and equipment, agriculture and horticulture for over 50 years. Only ClO2 can be used as a gas or liquid in the atmosphere, as well as on non-porous and porous surfaces.

Chlorine dioxide is a chemical compound that consists of one chlorine atom and two oxygen atoms. Do not confuse ClO2 with typical household chlorine bleach or HTH. Chlorine dioxide is an oxidizing agent, not a chlorinating agent. Unlike alternative chemicals, ClO2 reacts with organic matter through SELECTIVE OXIDATION rather than SUBSTITUTION and produces no carcinogenic chlorinated by-products.

Only ClO2 can be used either as a gas or liquid in the atmosphere, as well as on non-porous and porous surfaces. NO OTHER CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES HAVE THIS ABILITY

ClO2 has a 2.5 times higher oxidation capacity than chlorine. Because ClO2 is a strong oxidizing agent and acts at significantly lower concentrations than other disinfectants, it is significantly less corrosive. It is not necessary to rinse or wipe after applying ClO2. One of the most important characteristics of chlorine dioxide is its high solubility in water, especially cold water. Chlorine dioxide does not hydrolyze or undergo chemical decomposition when it enters water.

ClO2 is a water-soluble gas that penetrates into visible and invisible barriers that are not otherwise reached by spraying, fogging, wiping, sponge. The goal is to release as much ClO2 as possible from the concentrate to the atmosphere. Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a very small molecule with a size of 0.124 nanometers. There are about 8 chlorine dioxide gas molecules in 1 nanometer. 1,000 nanometers = 1 micron. Therefore, ClO2 gas can penetrate very small areas. In gaseous form, ClO2 completely and evenly fills any enclosed space, resulting in unsurpassed distribution and diffusion. NOVA-OX Tabs take up less storage space than liquid containers. Why transport water? NOVA-OX – liquid or gaseous – is manufactured directly at the scene of damage. This avoids the transport of heavy and space-consuming containers with liquid chemicals. Containers used to produce NOVA-OX in liquid or gaseous form are reused, significantly reducing waste.

NOVA-OX – COST-EFFECTIVE NOVA-OX is cheaper compared to conventional disinfectants. Use 100-200 ppm for disinfection after e.g. water damage, slight odour removal, disinfection/cleaning of mould, etc. 0.30 - 0.60 Euro per liter of NOVA-OX liquid. Use 400-500 ppm to remove strong odours, or cleaning/disinfection of severe mould, sewage damage or crime scene etc. 1.50 Euro per liter of NOVA-OX liquid.
