I am a 2nd year undergraduate architecture student at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture. I am seeking a 4 month work placement from January 2025 - April 2025.
My interest in architecture comes from a love of exploring whats possible, I am driven by the process of designing; experimentation and learning. I enjoy the challenge of turning an initial spark into something functional, purposeful, and ultimately, harmonious. It’s the combination of creativity and calculation that drives my passion for design. I aim to focus on creating environments that serve and respond to the people they support. Eager to expand my knowledge and collaborate with others, I’m dedicated to contributing to projects that serve both people and communities.
I aspire to make meaningful contributions to your team and to the overall success of your projects, while also embracing the opportunity for personal and professional growth through our collaboration.

sandwich
library workshop + cafe + library
Workshop and café spaces are deliberately divided, but converge on the upper levels as a serene library. The central alleyway, carved between, serves as a vibrant communal space for events.
The library is split into two areas; the lower more commercial and louder public area, and the upper, more quiet and domestic private spaces for the users.
The catwalk acts as a transition space between the two levels.
Like a sandwich.
Located on Main St, the downtown of Cambridge, Ontario, surrounded by cafes and local creative businesses.
This small downtown attracts both locals and visitors, so the library aims to accomodate both regulars and newcomers. I aimed for the library to serve as a microcosm of downtown Cambridge, bridging the lively atmosphere of Main Street with spaces for learning and collaboration while fostering community engagement.
The lower, more public community space is like the ciabatta experience. The upper, private and quiet areas are like ful flavor. The calabrese salami in the middle, the main connects the casual public realm below with the more
ciabatta base, the foundation of a casual, shared like the mozzarella and basil, a more intimate, peacemain character: the catwalk—a flavorful transition that more serene, private spaces above.

metronome pedestrian bridge
The spacing of vertical elements slows peoples steps, controls the view of the scenery. The columns act like beats, marking time as the view of waterfall emerges, only to fade behind the verticals again, creating a rhythm of reveal and concealment.
This interplay between movement and changing views transforms the bridge from a simple pathway into an orchestrated experience, guiding and pacing the journey across.

piao net zero home collaborator: colin chan
“Piao” (漂) in Mandarin Chinese conveys the concept of floating or drifting. It suggests a state of being suspended or carried along without fixed or firm attachment to a particular surface or location.
We created a “net-zero” home that is is off-grid. Combining technology with the surrounding architecture vernacular and traditions of local Indigenous communities of Taitung.
Inspired by the practices of the Pinuyumayan peoples, we elevated the structure supported by stilts, facilitating the circulation of cool air beneath while concurrently inviting the ingress of refreshing currents from below. Stilted houses also catches winds of higher velocity, which increases cooling. This strategy counteracts the ascent of heated air, channeling it upwards along the inclined pitch of the roof, fostering an environment of natural thermal regulation within.

splice
Splice, a tensile membrance steel bridge, plays with light and shadow, creating a balance between mass and transparency.
By integrating these elements, the bridge achieves both visual lightness and structural integrity. This was a study in materiality.
Located within the borough of Lasalle, Montreal, Splice is a pedestrian bridge that crosses the Canal de L’aqueduc, connecting the parks on either side. Combining an exposed truss system with a tensile fabric membrane, its sleek shape adds a clean and modern touch to the surrounding suburban space.
