JR. NAD mag NATIONAL DEAF YOUTH DAY ISSUE

March 2019 / NDYD Issue / Vol 1

National Deaf Youth Day is an annual event that happens on March 6th. The event was developed to bring together deaf and hard of hearing youth from schools for the deaf, mainstream programs, and universities and to recognize them for who they are. The National Deaf Youth Day serves two purposes: 1) To celebrate the unique identity of deaf and hard of hearing people and their accomplishments; and 2) To promote the idea that deaf and hard of hearing youth can do anything. This first-ever National Deaf Youth Day issue recognizes our hard-working, dedicated and amazing Jr. NAD members across the nation. If you don't see your chapter listed in this issue or wish to establish a chapter at your school, please contact Chanel Gleicher Bonheyo at chanel.gleicher@nad.org. This issue would have not been possible without the Jr. NAD Media team - thank you! Enjoy!
