A FAMILY OF LEARNING
My Kaira Looro competition submission
DESIGN :
Impluvium Primary School stands as a testament to my belief that thoughtful school design holds the key to shaping young minds. Inspired by the Diola impluvium house of Casamance, this design embodies a nurturing environment that fuels effective learning and community growth. Through the interplay of natural elements and sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting, the school becomes a beacon of environmental consciousness. The integration of flexible spaces empowers students to personalize their learning journey, fostering ownership and diverse educational experiences. With its heart in an outdoor Agora, this design bolsters camaraderie and inclusivity among students. Impluvium Primary School champions cultural heritage, sustainability, and inclusivity, laying a foundation for academic excellence and holistic development.
