Sine Pavilion Fall 2021: Media + Modeling II Sayeh Naderian | John Wilson
Using a grass hopper script, the pavillion is designed by cladding modules resting on a structural frame. first a triangular grid was mapped onto the surface and then each panel was scaled using a point charge located in the center of the pavillion based on their unique to the point. After moving the scaled triangular panels slightly up, they were then lofted to the original panels to complete the cladding. At the end the structural frame for the pavillion was created using a hexagonal grid that was mapped onto the surface and then piped. 04

Trail Station Fall 2021: Core Studio II
Exploring a corner in the middle of all the chaos in a futuristic utopian city, this project aims to provide a space for the community to exercise, walk their dogs, etc. The goal of this project is to be a calm space for the people visiting or passing 08

Summer Path Spring 22: Core Studio III Sayeh Naderian | Sarah Griffith
The current housing crisis in the US challenges architecture to address a critical need while presenting the opportunity to propose new solutions. this project explores innovative possibilities for multi-family living. The goal is to propose new housing models that sustain healthy, diverse communities. Defining the qualities and needs of a healthy and diverse community is the core of the design thesis. 12

Oasis Within Chaos Summer 2021: Core Studio I
In this project, the possibilities and limitations of creating and defining space through the means of architectural enclosures were explored; using a given kit of parts and operating within a “90-degree angles only” rule. The site is a hypotetical urban condition: a corner park. The project calls for a calm oasis in a busy city, offering spaces of retreat, relaxation and recharging that can be used in different ways, by individuals and groups. 20

Point, Line, Plane Summer 2021: Core Studio I
In his book “Architecture: Form, Space, & Order” Francis Ching describes plane as a line which is extended in a direction other than its intristic direction and becomes a plane. Shape is the primery identifying characteristic of a plane which is determined by the contour of the line forming the edges of a plane. This project consists of a series of explorations in the realm of abstraction; involving photography, drawing, and modelmaking. Going from photographs to drawings and then model making, this project follows a design process of creating new 24

Bus Stop Fall 2021: Construction Technology
This design for a bus-stop on Georgia Tech’s campus features a butterfly roof with cut-outs in the middle. these cut-outs will guid the water collected from the rain through the glass columns into a water-tank underground which then can be repurposed for various uses. Another feature of the bus-stop is the adjustable wooden seats so that the people adjust the back as they wish. The aim of the design was to collect water, provide comfort while being aesthetically pleasant. 28

The Thinking Hand Personal Sketches
Computer-aided design is essential especially in the world we live in today. However, an architect needs to be still able to express his or her ideas through hand sketches. The name of this section is taken from Juhani Palasmaa’s book regarding this matter. 32

Think Outside the Box Personal Collages
Computer software programs can be extremely beneficial when we try to express a conceptual idea. in this section Adobe Photoshop was used to create conceptual collages about my background as an engineer, a woman and an architecture student. 38
