I am a 3rd year student taking Diploma in Architecture at Nanyang Polytechnic, School of Design & Media. I developed my interest in architecture from reading the architecture articles. I realised that there is more to design and how different spaces create different experiences. My interest and passion in architecture has deepen since joining NYP.
Studying in NYP allowed me to explore different aspects of the field through various modules like Studio, Building Structure, Digital Modelling and Green and Sustainable Design. These modules help broaden my scope and understanding of architecture. I was also exposed to the different softwares such as AutoCAD, Rhino and Revit which made me confident and comfortable in doing drafting, model making, BIM modelling and other 3D visuals.
From the experience I gained from working part time in a retail company and the school projects I have done, I learned the importance of working together as a team. I am eager to develop my skills, knowledge and personality in order to contribute more to the society.

THE OPPORTUNISTIC FORAGER
The Opportunistic Forager is based on the study of an anglerfish, a sea creature that forages for survival in the deep sea. and how anglerfish’s characteristics can be applied to habitants in a form of spaces. Located at Kallang River, it is an architecture where habitants seek refuge and always depend on opportunities of sun, rain and compost to forage for survival. This architecture is made up of spaces that lead everyone to the top where it is a space to “hunt” by the collection of rainwater harvesting and compost. Through this architecture, habitants are able to forage on opportunities in the day and seek refuge in the night. (Refer to technical drawings on page 09 - 10)

02 INTERNSHIP
STUDIO SUPER SAFARI (24 WEEKS)
In these 6 months of intern, I have gained experience in the architecture field and I was able to learn more about the real life industry. Studio Super Safari mainly focus on residential houses that is highly personalised and tailored to the client’s aspiration. They oversee and handle their projects from concept-construction and I was fortunate to have a part to play and experience these different stages and maturities of a project. Working with Guofeng has been enjoyable as he shared his insights about his design philosophy and architecture as a business, which has taught me much that the school environment cannot replicate.

03 NAWA PAVILION
NAWA PAVILION, POLAND (OSKAR ZIETA)
This pavilion has a simple yet unique structure. It goes through a method called FiDU, a metal-inflating process as it is made of a lightweight, durable metal component that is also stable through the compressed air expanding it. However, it can go through a simpler process by using only bamboos which have the required qualities to make the structure.

THE OPPORTUNISTIC FORAGER
These technical drawings are used for diagrams to show visual representation and explanation on the form I did for my studio Genius in Nature project. (refer to project 01) I was able to hone my technical skills in creating accurate technical drawings on AutoCAD. I was able to know the lineweights required, creating 2D drawings of plans, sections and elevations, while ensuring they are clear and easy to understand.

ARCHITECTURAL PRACTICES AND POLICIES
I have proposed these shelters which are a part of my architecture to be designed for manufacturing and assembly. It will require an inflatable membrane and steel frames. These shelters are uniformed throughout my architecture. Thus, the process will be cost effective.
- Maintaining by using an air pumpto inflate the membrane when needed
- Connect the hose to the air valve of the membrane
- Maintaining by cleanliness of the membrane shelter and to monitor the condition of the membrane
- User will have to wear a safety vest and to connect to safety hooks when walking on the membrane shelter

05 COOP @ THE THEATRE PROJECT, 2021
THEATRE PRACTICE LOCATED AT WATERLOO STREET
Part of team designing and constructing architectural installation COOP at exhibition at the Theatre Practice. The main function of the space is for habitants to reconnect and just a space for them to relax. Such simple design yet complex method of construction. It required working well as a team and to have clear communication in order to execute the systematic plan.
